I know everyone's curious too.The anime or manga did not tell us about his past or anything so we're really lacking about his background info. anyone's got ideas?

I'd say that an old friend who had betrayed or did something to Kanda in the past, something that Yuu did not approve of. That's why Yuu-chan tries to be as emotionless about it as possible, what can be proved by him saying simply 'that person' (not acknowledging nothing more but the sole existence) instead of 'him', 'her' etc.

My reasoning sucks, doesn't it?

No! Not at all! That's a great theory

But I was thinking maybe someone who can get rid of his tattoo, that can lengthen his life longer.

Either way...I hope the manga reveals all the secrets soon. There's just so much I need to know! I can make a list on all of it!

I guess he could be looking for his brother, sister or whutever, too.
Maybe even a person who raised him, before he came to the black order
( e.g. a person like Mana for Allen).

To be serious I hope this person isn't a girl, who he loves so much since years or sth..
I think thats just too-- kitschy for him and the whole story of DGM. :/
