Those that would die without transfusion of blood.... What percent of them would be useless to society if saved?

Raising and loving a orphan, however, is completely different. You prevented someone from becoming a bum or thief or murderer.
Good job. Thumbs up.

...good grief, so you would rather let a police officer die from some nut stabbing him than save his life by donating a little blood? And as a sidenote, quite a few of the people who get a blood transfusion are just fine afterwards and are perfectly capable of being productive members of society.

I have donated blood several times and I hate needles, can't stand to see them put it in or take it out.

I'm not trying to be realistic here.

You can save a person's life... who will then indirectly cause the death of two others..

Would you still save him?

Yes. I like the free stuff they give me. Also free food. Who doesn't like Free things?

Also, I shall ensure that my blood will be carried, and hopefully they will donate blood and I will thus be IMMORTAL.

I would love to!

I think is a very noble thing to do. Nevertheless, I'm not fit for being a donor. I'm too skinny hahaha you must be at least 50 kg (110 pounds) to do it. I'm only 88 pounds...so I can't.

I've tried many times because my parents are in charge of a blood bank, but they say it's too risky for me T.T

I would love to! BUT they don't want me to because they said I look under 110 lbs,

I guess I need to gain some weight before donating blood again.

Yep twice a year. They even gave me a donor ID card.

I'm too chicken.
I'd run for the hills as soon as they pull out the needle.

Honestly I nearly fainted when I saw my blood being sucked out when I got my blood check. I thought I would be fascinated when I see my blood being sucked out by a needle. Thats all because I looked at the blood, they say not to look, but I did. So much blood, too much blood. The horror..

Two times a year, at work. I also have a donation card ( O+ ).

The NJ Blood Center brings a bus by our store and our sister stores twice a year, so our customers and my coworkers can sign up to donate.

Customers are given $10 gift cards for the store ( it's a grocery store ), and employees are given what is known as "20/20 points".

For a while, I couldn't donate, because my iron count was so low. I'm not a big red meat eater, and I WOULD buy spinach and lentils, if I knew the others in the house would eat them ( ends up being a waste of money ), so I started taking an iron supplement and can donate.

I just have to keep reminding myself to keep myself hydrated! Dumbdumb me didn't do that a week before the last donation and I almost passed out cold ( again ). Panic attacks like that are not fun! XP

Am AB+ which is very rare.

I didn't know my blood type until I had to go into hospital and while there had a few blood tests so I just asked a nurse to tell me my blood type. Was so shocked I was an AB+

I donate whenever a doner van is in town.
