yup!! totally agree...

Spring Waltz....i watched it coz the soundtrack is very nice....even there are lots of boring scene, but the soundtrack make me feel at ease

Love story in Harvard too, i luv the soundtrack...very nice!! make to drama more interesting.

but, if the drama is good, it doesn't really matter if the soundtrack is not too good' but bad soundtrack can really ruin the mood.

Well, I think the drama makes the singer/band popular. I.e. Mika Nakashima

yeh i think it really helps bring out the mood more, like the song "try to remember"by brother four in Silence, its just made me cry everytime it played.

but then again, they have to have the right song playing

It does in my opinion. It's not to the extent that a drama is only as good as the soundtrack, but one of the major aspects that separate good dramas from great dramas is a good soundtrack.

A prime example would be Nobuta wo Produce. It definitely would feel much more slower and redundant without Yoshihiro Ike's masterful guitar pieces to complement the dramatic scenes dealing with character understanding and artistic scenes where the director pans out to show the sky/surroundings and whatnot.

Proposal Daisakusen and Attention Please are two other dramas that come to mind when I think about it--with a significantly inferior soundtrack both dramas would be rather mediocre.
