Hi everyone! Today I'll talk about Bing Bang, Zia, GP Basic, Super Junior’s Sungmin + Girls’ Day’s Min Ah and 2PM Nichkhun.
Let's start with 2 news about Big Bang!
Big Bang’s performances from IRIS Saitama Event
Back in June, the boys of Big Bang performed at the IRIS Concert at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Unfortunately for VIP’s these performances couldn’t be seen… until now.
The station that broadcasts IRIS in Japan, TBS, has recently aired this concert in full and now the VIP’s can watch these performances.
Watch Big Bang perform Gara Gara GO!!, Hallelujah, and Tell Me Goodbye below.
Music critic Yim Jin Mo believes Big Bang shouldn’t be called “idol stars”
Say what? Most people would believe the group Big Bang would easily qualify as idol stars since the group is arguably the epitome of all successful idol groups these days. However, famous music critic Yim Jin Mo doesn’t believe so, as he thinks the group is “too good” to be called idols at all!
The man appeared on MBC FM4U’s Date in Two O’Clock, and revealed, “G-Dragon brought undivided attention with his solo album he produced himself last year. Technically, if one member in a group is able to actually write his own song, we can’t call the group ‘idols.’
Like Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake, they were able to break the idols barrier and began to write songs on their own. This is the biggest success point of Big Bang.”
He also gave his criticism, “I hope he puts more effort on songwriting and widens his creativity.”
What do you think? Is Big Bang really too talented to be called idols?
Now, let's talk about Zia
Zia unleashes music video for Laughter
The power vocalist released the full MV and it consists of a story line of love. Zia gets to show off her talented vocals once again, surprising fans from all over.
Be sure to check it out.
Let's talk about the new group who will debut next week, GP Basic.
Netizens worry for the future of young GP Basic
With the group’s debut date just around the corner, GP Basic has been gaining an explosive amount of attention from many, specifically due to their such young age. Besides Janey who currently attends elementary school, all members are merely middle school students.
Although their overall concept of “youth” is pretty fresh for K-pop industry, it seems like many people are worried about what’s awaiting the girls. Some believe that dressing prepubescent girls in tight pants and high heels is ethically wrong and should not be attempted.
There is also a problem for GP Basic’s appearance on various music programs, since a handful of them require parental guidance for those under 15. The shows include KBS Music Bank, MBC Show! Music Core, and SBS Inkigayo. If all three shows ban young kids from even viewing the show, how will they be able to perform in the show?
About this question, Korea Communications Standards Commission declared, “The group’s appearance itself will not be a problem, but it is definitely inappropriate. Their choreography and wardrobe will be the main factor on our banning decision.”
I just can’t wait to see the girls’ first performance…
Here it comes, Super Junior’s Sungmin + Girls’ Day’s Min Ah!
Super Junior’s Sungmin shows an interest in Girls’ Day’s Min Ah
Super Junior’s member Sungmin expressed his passionate interest toward Girls’ Day’s resident cutie, Min Ah.
On August 8th’s airing of MBC Bouquet, a segment was dedicated for four SuJu members (Sungmin, Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, and Kyuhyun). They were given a chance to hand a bouquet of flowers to a member of a girl group they personally are interested in.
Unlike the other three members, Sungmin began to get serious and stepped up to Girls’ Day’s Min Ah to hand his flower bouquet. He then confessed his love.
Girls’ Day’s Min Ah is well-known for the similarities she shares with f(x)’s Sulli. She’s also been recently selected as MC for a game show.
Now, the last new is about 2PM's Nichkhun
Nichkhun enjoys a ride on a jet ski
2PM’s Nichkhun recently revealed a picture of himself jet skiing on his Twitter.
He was filming a CF where he had to ride a jet ski, and it made me realize life is unfair.
One guy gets to get paid to ride a jet ski, while others have to pay hundreds to ride one.
Nichkhun wrote, “Do I look like a pro or what? = b”.
He sure does.
“Nichkhun is luxurious.”
“I want to ride with Nichkhun.”
It’s also unfair that he gets to look that good riding one.
