I apologize ahead of time for the rambling style this thread is going to be in, this is just something that popped in my head so I trying to get it down before I forget.

You might already know about the Suicide gene?
That is wen competing animals fighting/competing over the opportunity to mate with a hot lady... One loses one wins.
The loser do to this failure becomes depressed, say we are talking about birds, his feathers become duller, his immune system weakens. There the first to succumb to any illnesses. This is mother natures way of getting rid of the weak, or unwanted within a species. (or at-least stop them from mating.)

Humans also have this suicide Gene.

Humans put so much infuses on work status, that are bodies have taken it as a mating ritual. And so wen we are fired, lose are jobs, the Suicide Gene is activated. we be come less energetic, depressed, are health drops, are metabolism slows, so we gain fat much faster. You become a pest to mother nature who she deems as Bad genetics.
That is why retired people health deteriorates much faster once there not working anymore.

On the other note, people who find work or find a lover, the opposite affect happens.
A girl who gets a boyfriend, after being single for years. Will find that the feel healthier , and usually lose a few pounds.
Same for a person who gets a job.

The debate is, do you think its a good thing we tricked are bodies into thinking work is are mating ritual.
also feel free to add any other comments you like.

I'm not sure where the "work as mating ritual" thing came from. It's an interesting idea - any links?

I've always thought that people are happier when they are working because (in some cases) it makes them feel fulfilled and they have an income which hopefully allows them a decent standard of living, at least to the point of keeping a roof over their head and food on the table. People also get some social interaction with their colleagues, and it provides structure to their day.

When someone loses their job, they lose the structure and the interaction, depending on how much of a social life they have. Also, unless they are very well off they become reliant on the State to provide for them, which in a lot of cases means a large drop in quality of life and increased financial stress (I once worked out, for example, that I could survive on State benefits but there would be nothing left to save for a rainy day - if I lost my job I would very quickly start to feel the pressure.) The financial pressures are going to be worse for people with families, which could create strain in relationships. I would say that these are at least as likely to cause depression and the other effects you describe as the suicide gene.

'I could look for some, but like I said wile I was cutting the Lawn pushing my lawnmower this idea flashed in my head, so after finishing up the work I was doing, I ran inside to type it out as fast as I could. If I did it sooner I had a 15 minute long verbal speech on it monologue in my Skull. I lost that as I was heading to my computer, so You got what was still left up their in my gray matter.

Usually I attribute my sasses in life to how my brain works, including my mild ADD. But this time around I must say I am at a disposition because of it. On second thought I probably would have not came up with that ideal in the first place if it was not for how my brain works.

Congrats. You've stated the obvious.....
Maybe it's not the suicide gene but maybe something we call normal behavior.
You're fired or dumped. You feel sad.... Sometimes you even become depressed. You don't want to do anything for a while...... Bad cases you're health starts to drop....
You get a job or a girl/boyfriend. You feel happy. You are more active and productive cause you have a job or a girl/boyfriend. Something to look forward to.....

I am fully aware of that. What saying its not just a emotional response its also a genetic. Its A gene that weeds out the week through self destruction. Hence why it is named the Suicide Gene.

At that there is some Scientist looking into using viruses in-order to activate the suicide gene in Cancer Cells to aid in battling cancer.

It is well known in the science community, once it becomes a more well open study I am certain you might here a little about it. That is if you like to read up on such things.

I think that once you have been dealt defeat, there is a recovery period that allows you to deal with it. A gene is a poor way of putting one's downturn in ambition and activity. It is simply psychological damage incurred from a loss. If you don't get back up from a fall, you just keep getting worse.

Actually, you can see just how this "suicide gene" works, when people loose muscle mass due to their inactivity.

MY best friend Is a Bio-engineer (scientist.) And he loves weed, he smokes couple times a week. As a expert in living systems, DNA, and much more he is a large backer of legalization of that plant. He is also 6'2" and built like a body builder.
It is a false claim that weed affects a person and makes them lazy. At that their is no Long term damage or side affects.

But then I don't think I give away his name just in case any of you work for them Lien bastards in the Drug Task Force. We don't need him arrested for putting weed in his cooking, just because of some stupid law that makes 0 sense.

Lol wut? Isn't that just your muscles atrophying because you're not using them/they aren't getting the calories/energy they need? Also if you don't eat properly you won't have energy. It has nothing to do with this "suicide gene" I think.

I'm confused; is this just an anecdote or a comment against me because you misinterpreted my statement?

It demonstrates just how it works after individuals become inactive due to depression, when depression can also cause them to loose their appetite.
