Crazy Dude Targeting Black Males in Michigan
Posted 8/11/10 , edited 8/11/10
Another reason why I'm planning on moving to Canada.

Remember the story of Natalee Holloway? Do you also remember how it took no time at all for every major news station to pick up on her story, and how it seemed the whole nation went into Missing White Girl Syndrome? We all knew about that, correct?

Now here's another story that took about 4 months for anyone to know about, but of course if it's involving minorities, it's not very important (notice the sarcasm):

http://www.aolnews.com/discuss/michigan-police-hunt-serial-killer-in-flint-area/19584066

His motives remain unclear? Shouldn't it be obvious what his "motives" are? Investigators say that the crimes should be solved "real soon," and by real soon he means another 10 years. What pissed me off even more is when they referred to his slayings as "practicing." It makes me sick. It's nice to know how much people care about their fellow man.

So either way, what do you all think of this story? Opinions are welcomed.

I'm tired of hearing bad news. And about the being slow to notice part, that's true. Sad, but yeah pretty obvious.
By reading it, it sounds like they're covering up the story, or just don't care. .__.

oh my head hurts, i just read nearly all of those comments and all i have to say is wow just wow. People are being killed and no one really seems to give a fuck one way or the other. I do agree that it's true but the media and other outlets will never own up to it because it's all about ratings and ratings=money.

What makes these victims any more special than the 180 killed in last week's plane crash, or the thousands being slaughtered daily in sierra leone;
I dislike it when people go on rants like this very post.
Are you jealous black victims aren't getting similar exposure in comparison to a prior incident?
Why even make the distinction of black victims to begin with, they are victims, pure and simple.
In this case, at least the cops are doing something. It's not like ms. Holloway's killer didn't get away scot free for 2-3 years playing poker in every one's face around the world. Don't get me started.

It seems the only thing these news stations care about is race, and you can see it all through the media, but when the truth is brought up people always try to deny it of being a racial issue. It has nothing to do with jealousy, that's insane, it has something to do with me being tired of bias in the media.

The question is why did this story take so long to be broadcast than all these other previous incidents? Why are minorities usually ignored? And when I say minorities I don't mean just blacks.

The minorities you speak of are in the majority.
If their deaths don't generate money, why would this depressing news be broadcast to spread panic?
Also, most newspapers depict race to describe situational personas, you know, the non-famous nobodies that need describing for the reading audience.
You could also choose to read more term friendly news outlets.......But if you really want to get your point across, take affirmative action, start boycotting all news outlets that do the racial terminology.
You'll soon find out that you were fighting the general public all along, the very people you want to get the information to.

Its not the news stations, all news stations care about is ratings. Ratings = Money.

Its the general public. The general public doesn't care about some random unknown black people dying, but when a smexy white gurl goes missing, you never hear the end of it.

That's why the news doesn't have any interest in reporting it, no ratings to be had in those stories.

In America, the majority is white, apparently everyone else is the minority. Obviously, they had to broadcast it, but that still didn't answer the question of why it took so long.
Boycotting isn't that simple, for even if I were to do so, they would still continue to broadcast their tripe. Besides, they'll just plead the First.

I guess that makes sense, but I find it disgusting either way.

You still didn't answer my question.

I'm sorry darling, did I speak in riddles again?
you telling me the majority is white is irrelevant.
The minority we are speaking of is income/wealth related, or did I misread the "not only blacks" part?
Now THAT minority is numerically a majority.
THAT majority is what dictates the news outlets, not the other way around.
You say boycotting isn't simple. I say it simply won't start. Why?
Because the minority that is the majority dictates all of our slangs and terminology, even more so than any media outlet.
We all get a basic form of educational decency when it comes to talking to one another.
Yet we are all so lazy, we tend to take the easy, incorrect ways instead of trying to move forward, becoming better and more decent as a species.
Generalizing instead of individualizing.

Why aren't we informed sooner?
You're trying to catch a local killer.
Way to waive a headline in his face that you're on his tail.
Way to spread panic amongst the citizens of that small community.
Way to make a police force seem inept at dealing with a serious problem, causing more panic and maybe armed defenses etc

People die everyday wherever you go.

"A knife-wielding slasher who Michigan police believe is responsible for the stabbing deaths of five African-American men since mid-May is still "learning how to kill," an expert says".... "You just better pray that he hasn't mastered the killing phase because once he does, he'll be harder to catch."...it doesn't take a genius to kill kill some1... and wat the hell is mastering a "killing phase"?.. if tht murderer is so inexperience on what he's doing then he would be caught in a few weeks becuz if you don't know wat ur doing, ur goin 2 leave a lot of evidence n prints tht are easily traceable...i believe tht these "investigators" are incompetent in doing their job n they're using bullshit excuses to cover their asses... btw when you kill some1 it's always personal, regardless of wat u do to kill them

Though I understand your point of view, I still find that the media is biased, and that stories of whites are made public earlier than any other race, there's too much evidence to prove otherwise.

So with that, I'm done.
