You'll have to excuse me....I haven't played that many PS2 games, so I only have so many favorites. Because of that, I'm mostly going to be gushing over the awesomeness that is Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater...
Oh man, where to begin!? I guess I'll begin by saying that this game was the game that introduced me to the Metal Gear Saga; it was the first game in the series I ever played.....and I wanted to HATE this game going into it at first! All I heard was how 'great' or 'amazing' it was, and I just wanted a fair argument........I lost. Hard. But, damn, it's good to wrong sometimes. And how fitting that the first game in the series is also the first chapter of the epic story that unfolds from there. Oh, yeah, I forgot about the story; IT'S AWESOME! The story follows John Doe, a.k.a. Jack, who's sent on a Virtuous Mission to save Professor Sokolov, a Russian scientist, from the KGB. Here, he's given the name 'Naked Snake', for reasons explained at the beginning of the game.....and that's it; that's all I'm gonna say. Play the game yourself for the story, you'll get your money's worth. But the real magic comes from the gameplay; stealh-action at its finest, bar-none.

Sorry, Splinter Cell fans, but MGS as a whole gets that vote from me. Then there's the music, the bosses, THE CHARACTERS, HOLY SH!T, this game's awesome!! If you haven't played this game, DO IT. You won't regret it, I promise, because if I say anymore, it'll only spoil it, if even by that much.........Snake Eater......It's like being in a dream, it's a thrill......what a thrill......
