Hi crasyjak. Hip hop is not evil. Like money, secular items, they are not evil. What matters is the intention while using it. You can use electric guitars and praise the Lord. You can use electric guitars and praise the devil.

Hip hop and screaming rock (what do you call it anyway) are secular music. They are usually seen as not holy because usually of its affiliation with its lyrics, often containing things like 'mutherfuker' or what not. Our words do carry an impact. By using hiphop with the intention to spread messages that are only promoting satanic behaviours, such as suicidal thoughts, rage, immoral deeds, theft, racism, jail, dark, is influential. People who are non-believers listen to that, and while singing it, words can affect their lives.

Eg. If you speak/sing of suicide all the time, you're basically inviting the devil to bring his suicidal devil friends to you, your friends, your family and surroundings. Then slowly you start hearing of friends getting suicidal and all, and you get affected.

Or even singing about money and stuff is just focussing you on wrong things. You get caught up in worldly things and forget the truth.

But if you're using a rapsong, and hiphop your way just for appreciating music, that is created by God, and rejoicing, therein meaning it doesn't have to be a song to worship God, but it does not encourage sin either. You can be happy singing things that are in the world, but you should pay heed to what the devil's tactics are. He either tries to get rid of genre music altogether via controversy, (cos satan doesn't mind being slandered)
and stir up feelings of hatred for the fans.

But it is not God's will to destroy fun. Satan has a counterfeit for everything of God. What people in the world feel is happiness is only temporal. Break that temporal joy and you get rage to fill the void.

Well put. Its very important to remember that while God's rules are necessary in order to live a fulfilling life, he also has commanded us to, basically, party. There are all sorts of different feasts and celebrations listed in the Bible. I believe the joy and thanksgiving we find during these times is/should be and offering to God for all his blessings.

I just found a passage that will strengthen the word of god:

Romans 14
19 Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. 20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense. 21 It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak.

^that can refer to all things. don't destroy the work of god for personal profit or gain. God created music, don't exploit it. Secular music is no sin, but If someone feels that listening to rock and hiphop is sin, to those who believe it, it is sin. But don't listen to rap and hiphop purposely in front of them because you know you are guilt free in doing so and be a stumbling block to unbelievers who might have sinned unconsciously because of you, thus filling THEM with sin consciousness.
