I for one feel ashamed of the large number of American people who make bad generalizations about Muslims since conflicts with the middle East. I mean, 1. not all terrorists are even middle-eastern, let alone Muslim, and 2. Islam used to be one of the most powerful religious nations around, and it certainly is still one of the wisest and most peaceful religion today. Not to mention very commited as opposed to most hypocritical western religions.

Yup! Not to mention that algebra stems from Arabic/Islamic studies:

Fasting is kinda fun. Just to have a side note here that the fasting month brings the family together to break the fast together and feast as a family. Usually, that means extra treats (anything from main course to dessert) that we normally don't get at other times of the year!

Fasting certainly does seem to bring the family together, huh? Well, I'd rather be Muslim than Christian right now, but I don't think anyone I know would really buy it. But you gotta admit, it would be strange for someone at age 15 to just suddenly "change" their religion. Especially me; I'm not a very religious person. It's just all too dogmatic and solid.

I live in a country that most of the citizen were muslim. and I'm Muslim too .but in my country muslim's family has control the baby birth, most of them only has two or three children.

the medical reason why Muslim doing fasting for a month

for 11 months our body has been entered with kind of food that containing nutrition such as vitamin, protein, fat, mineral, etc. and somehow we don't realize that our body got too much one of the nutrition. so fasting can help our body to reduce the excess of nutrition. usually when people doing a fasting their cholesterol will go down . so I think fasting not just to make Muslim suffer as you though but it make us more healthy

I've got those information for Adhitya's blog
(http://suamigila.com/2007/11/puasa.html) but the blog are write with Indonesian language

One thing I hate about being muslim is that I can't eat pork. Everyone always bugs me about it and I have to watch what I eat. And I hate how people say your not a real muslim. Then half these people wouldn't be real anything. Most people arn't supposed to cuss, but they do it anyway. I don't pray, well I do sometimes and I don't fast. If I'm not a "real" muslim, then I really do not care. If I die, where would I go? the not "real" muslim heaven? I see it as this way, as long as you belive in something, and you follow the rules, ex: muslims can't eat pork, then you should be one.

There are a lot of muslims at my school. They usually go into the library to pray during lunch time. The first time I saw it I was like "wtf are they doing?"
but that was during freshman year,
Now i know why.

yeah lazy, i had this one girl who brought a carpet to school and would pray on it... hard core muslims like that scare me (>___<);

Oh please, would you stop with all this 'hard-core' muslim crap. Praying is one of the 5 pillars of Islam. It's not hard-core anything, it's simply doing one of the 5 basic things as a Muslim.

I sorta see where you're coming from. I don't think anyone should be compelled to do anything in Islam. When you come down to it, Islam isn't about the fasting or praying and the rules, it's first and foremost making the connection with god and trying to be a good human. I think once you've made the connection, you're willing to sacrifice some things in this life for the hereafter.

riiigghht, the girl would bring in her copy of the Qu'ran and would try to teach me it, and would try to convince me to pray with her all the time. She even said that she's praying for me every night because i told her once that i wasnt too sure about allah's existence. (>__>)

Seriously, I don't think anyone should force you into doing something you don't want to. It seems like you're confused and don't even know why you're following Islam. I think you should search for yourself and check it out.

She doesn't have it with her all the time. She just brought the mat to school to pray on so she wouldn't have to put her forehead and some dirty floor that people have walked on.
