When in the wild, woods, jungle or open water what would you do to survive? What will you bring with you in order to survive ? Moreover, this is a general thread on survival so anything on it may be discussed and posted here.

well.. depending on where and how i'd be doing the surviving, the things i'd bring might differ slightly
if you have time to prepare at all that is..
but the essentials are always water (the more the better), a good knife and some rope/string
those alone gives you a good range of things you'd be able to do for your own survival

then if you're able to bring sufficient clothing, matches, food, maybe an axe, fishing gear, etc. then that makes things easier of course
and in general i feel you're more left out on the open sea than in a lively forrest...

it actually depends on how one end up in the wilds, woods, jungles, deserts or open water such as the sea.

if a plain crashed in the desert, jungle, or woods. first step would be to look for other survivors, establish chores so to speak, gather wood, search luggage for health kits, survival kits anything useful to treat wounds. use pieces of the plan to make spears/knives to hunt for wild game or fish old school way. then once settled and calmed down a bit and not in a total panic search for a radio or cell that works. if no answer from either, sit tight for a few days to gather supplies such as water, food, clothing, med kits and make spare spears/knives encase anyone looses it or throws a tantrum and decides to throw in some random direction. set up a chain of command everyone is okay with using the hands up method works nicely. then if anyone knows a general direction of where they are or knows the area (such as which state or country) then it would be paramount to find the nearest village/town/city so heading in one of the main direction north/south/east/west would be best and continue on that path unless its a dead end cliff then head in one of the other two or three direction.

if desert looking for water and survivors is top priority. be-sure to know which plants are good to eat or drink from before attempting since there are a few desert plants that have negative effects on the body and or mind. when done look survival kits to patch up any wounded. look threw suit cases and find thick denim or leather and make shovels and knives so to dig for water where lots of plants are located. sleep during the day and walk at night using the moon and north star as your compass. also finding a radio or phone would be nice as well, but chances that they work in the desert are slim to non. finding the nearest village or town is paramount to survival.

the ocean is a scary place to get lost in or at. since fresh water can be only be attained if its raining, or there is a an island nearby with fresh water on it. plane crashes in the ocean would leave little stuff behind since the plane would sink rather quickly, maby a couple float able things such as suit cases or seats that fell off/out during impact. searching for other survives is a must since being alone out in the ocean is easy shark bait. making a raft of the seats and or suitcases would be helpful. tie clothes together to make (i forgot what there called, they catch the air flow and make the boat move slowly.) and find land as soon as possible..

but if its like a hunting trip or like on those survival shows. then a knife, compass, backpack full of MRES/canned goods, some spare clothes, survival heath kit, sturdy leather steel toe mountain boots.denim pants, thick flannel jacket, signal flair, matches and lighter, (encase one gets wet, lost, or decides crap out.) maby a tent, some fishing line still in the package for fishing in rivers/lakes ponds, with that a small tackle box with some hooks, sinkers, using live worms as bait.

hmm, dunno if that got it all, probably missed a lot of stuff but, eh im not really an expert on such things. the discovery health, animal planet old original discover channel, history channel and of course basic fundamentals of logic.

anyways, hope it helped if not i'm sorry.

If lost, just keep going straight, you'll make it out sooner or later.

I always keep at least one or two bottles of water on me. It's hydrating, and it's good for keeping you alert/awake.

I'd just make sure I have a lighter to make a fire. Most important thing is a fire. Also a Swiss Army knife, you really can't go wrong with a genuine Swiss Army knife. My Dad has one and it is awesome! I'm not allowed to touch it though

Honestly?

A gun
A lighter
Doritos
A water bottle
Decent warm gear
Flare gun
Satellite phone
GPS
A rope
Sleeping bag
A knife
First Aid
Marshmallows

Tip? I havent a clue, but I think if you lost in the woods/jungle, you find water and follow the river/stream. Its bound to lead somewhere! Follow with caution and beware of crocs! If there is civilisation out there it will be near water
For open water, try and stay in the area you are. If you were clever enough someone would know whereabouts to find you. Faster for search and rescue if they know where you fell/jumped/pushed off. Yeh and if you see a shark then swim for your dear life.

Yeh but don't take my advice! I honestly have no clue. I'm just bored and have no idea where all this came from
