God-modding and RPing, what is it?
Posted 8/18/10 , edited 8/19/10
RPing What is this? Well...

By definition:

1. In roleplaying, participants adopt and act out the role of characters, or parts, that may have personalities, motivations, and backgrounds ...

2. Action in which a person takes on a role (as that of an actor) and pretends or acts out being that character.

3. Participating through using attitudes, stereotypes or given and predetermined points of view.

Role playing (or RPing) is, for all intents and purposes in this group, a story composed by two or more participants that assume the role of the character(s) that they portray in the story. There are a couple of different ways to write a role play story. Most often spoken dialogue is written plainly and action sequences are surrounded by asterisks. Sometimes the thoughts of a character may be surrounded by asterisks, italicized, underlined or all of the above. This is also known as “chat form”. Chat form is where the text is written as if speaking directly to the other character as you would in an IM session with a friend. You mostly see beginners using this form but it’s frowned upon as bad RP etiquette because it mostly uses one-liners and isn’t very descriptive. It also does little to move a story forward.

For example:

Zaraki:*Turns the corner of the building and sees Ichigo* Kurosaki!!! You owe me a rematch! *Draws zanpakutou and approaches Ichigo*

A second form of writing a role play session is called “free form”. In this form text is written as it would be in a book. It is very descriptive, often longer to read and uses standard grammar and punctuation. This is the preferred method of writing as opposed to chat because it is more creative or poetic in the descriptions of actions and settings and makes a story flow like it should.

For example:

Feeling rather restless, Zaraki walked along the street thinking of what he could do to ease his tension. He turned the corner and spotted just the thing he needed to do so. “Kurosaki!!! You owe me a rematch!" Feeling elated, Zaraki drew his zanpakutou and approached Ichigo with the intent of fighting him in an epic battle of pure joy and inebriation.

For most role playing sites, and this group, either method of writing the text is acceptable. You may also notice that some role players will identify their character as in the first example and some may not. This is also acceptable to most sites and this group.

Of Roleplaying Levels and Etiquette

There are 3 different levels of roleplaying:

Beginner Roleplayers
Not that challenging and usually easy and fun. One-liners mostly found here, but they are heavily discouraged. Roleplaying consists of more than one-liners; aim for a paragraph, at least.

Intermediate Roleplayers
No one-liners should ever be used here. The intermediate roleplaying should maintain the standard set by the creator of the group.

Advanced Roleplayers
Those who know how to take control of the plot, set the standard, and see it maintained throughout the entire roleplay. There should be a set plot (potentially with sub-plots in the future) and complete literacy here.

WHAT IS YOUR LEVEL?

It's a question we're often asked and something that is very hard to define. Many sites define it these days by the amount of words a person can churn out per post. However, there is a lot more to good writing than just the amount of words on a page, and indeed, some of the greatest works of fiction have been shorter than this very explanation.

So what make a good writer a good writer? How can we distinguish the difference between the different levels of RP in a manner that doesn't rely on something as completely superficial as word count?

Below is an attempt to define the different levels of writing based on my assumptions of what good roleplying should be as I’ve discovered through much, much research. Not all of these definitions will apply to everyone. And just because one may make mistakes in grammar or spelling doesn’t necessarily make them a bad writer. First, let's look at what makes a successful thread.

SUCCESSFUL THREADS SHOULD HAVE...

~ Storytelling – Are the RPers successfully communicating a story through the thread?
~ Pacing - Is the thread being paced appropriate as per the story requires? Does it take forever to walk to places for no good reason or does it take just minutes for characters to travel hundreds of miles? Does a conversation requiring answers with details actually contain the information needed or is it shortened?
~ Flow - Are posts easy to read, easy to understand and entertaining? Do you find yourself bogged down by irrelevant detail or does the story hold you in suspense and make you wanna read more?
~ Spelling/Grammar – Although we should strive to make our posts proper and easy to read, we all make mistakes from time to time. It's simple enough to fix, just run it through a checker before posting if it’s not your forte. If you don’t have one then take a little time to read through your post before posting it.
~ Point of View - RPs should always be written in the 3rd person to preserve continuity, except where applicable. (i.e. thoughts to oneself)
~ Action & Reaction - Characters should work together to attain the fluidity of the story being told. This means that if one character does something like getting up to stand the other characters should acknowledge it and not say something to contradict the action being taken.
~ Sharing – This refers to RPers being courteous to one another and not hogging the spotlight. Though there are no word lengths for posts, one should consider what they are writing and not spend too much time with needless descriptions or drawn out thoughts of characters. Make allowances for other characters present to react or speak. Balance posts so that they aren’t too short but not exceptionally long without purpose.

So what characteristics typically define each category of roleplayer?

BEGINNERS

~ Beginners may not understand concepts of RP such as the Mary Sue, god-modding or thread-hogging.
~ Beginners who Mary Sue - The beginner's character may be overly perfect, attractive, depressive/self-destructive, the character may be 'evil with a nice side' or have a terribly tragic past that only presents it's effects in the character when attention is needed. Basically, the character is clichéd.
~ Beginners who god-mod - Another well known RP phenomenon. This is where the RPer controls aspects of the story they couldn't possibly control. They may know information beforehand their character couldn't possibly know, control other people's characters or be all-powerful. God-modding is a no-no practice frowned upon by all but the god-modder. It’s a standard etiquette faux pas and should never be used in a thread.
~ Beginners who thread hog - This is where an RPer’s character take center stage of the thread and effectively bulldozes over all other characters. It is not always intentional but is nevertheless an unfortunate trait of a beginner RPer.
~ Beginners who use ‘chat form’ roleplay techniques – With this, beginners may express actions within asterisks. This is common for many beginners.

Handling the Beginner: Note that while these are some of the more extreme characteristics, there are exceptions to every rule. Some beginners will come to a group with a sound knowledge of writing and may (despite the short amount of time they've been roleplaying) automatically jump to become intermediate or advanced RPers. This is typical of those who have experience with writing skills but have never attempted to use them in a roleplay before. Usually they watch what other beginners do, mimic it then as they observe more advanced techniques and begin to excel in the craft. Others simply can’t grasp common concepts and backslide into a more easy and comfortable position for them to write in. Advanced RPers should be patient with beginners and teach what they can as the story unfolds. Trust me, they will eventually learn!

INTERMEDIATE

~ The intermediate RPer generally has a better command of language skills and a better understanding of roleplay concepts and regulations.
~ Intermediates who Mary Sue – These RPers typically have characters may still display some MS characteristics, but not to extremes. The RPer consciously tries to make a balanced character and to RP a diverse set of characters.
~ Intermediates who god-mod - These RPers usually have an understanding of god-modding and make a conscious effort to avoid accidentally control the environment around the character but may still do it out of either habit or as an oversight.
~ Storytelling - The RPer works with their partner in plotting out and executing scenes and/or actions to further the story.
~ Post lengths – Intermediate RPers make an effort to match the size of other posts in the thread.

Handling the Intermediate: Intermediate RPers are generally very easy to roleplay with. They may require additional assistance and guidance but generally fit in quite well.

ADVANCED

~ The advanced RPer has a good grasp of roleplay etiquette and RPs appropriately. They RP well with others, create interesting and unique plots, and their writing is easy to read, understand and respond to.
~ Mary Sue issues are almost nonexistent and almost always does not god-mod.
~ Flow - In general, the advanced RPer avoids higher technical mistakes and writes a very interesting and engaging post that drags the reader in and makes them want to continue reading.
~ Spelling/Grammar – The RPer is conscious of good spelling and grammar and makes an effort to keep their posts as error free as possible.

Handling the Advanced: Generally, there shouldn't be much trouble with advanced RPers.

ELITE

~ The Elite RPer is very difficult to separate from the advanced player and is a level often only achieved by those who formally study creative writing. In addition to roleplaying etiquette and storytelling ability, the player displays strong writing skills that keep even the longest of posts engaging.
~ Flow is something the elite RPer does extremely well, keeping all sentences clear, non-confusing and turning each sentence into a tool to move the plot forward. The elite RPer does not allow their characters to become bogged down in irrelevant information or drawn out scenes.
~ Development - Elite RPers allow their characters to develop through the storyline. They do not hang their entire character's evolvement on a single event. They establish their character in a number of relationships and do not solely seek out romance. (Unless this is the purpose of the character or plot) Relationships are played out realistically and not fast-tracked for the sake of getting to the 'good bits'.
~ Sharing -- They share storylines with other RPers and seek to enrich them by bringing other characters into the plot. The RPer knows how to accept other people's ideas and 'curveballs' in the RP and reacts to them appropriately.
~ Conduct – Elite RPers conduct themselves in an appropriate manner both IC and OOC. They do not hold themselves above the less competent writers in the thread. Rather, they offer assistance and help.
~ Spelling/Grammar - Elite RPers have near perfect spelling and grammar, though this may not come naturally. They make an effort to run posts through a checker or to eliminate typos and simple spelling errors manually.

Handling the Elite: You wouldn’t need to. They would handle you!

THE FINAL WORD

There is no true way to define what level a person is. However, allocating labels according to a system based on ability, understanding of writing and roleplaying will lead to a much clearer understanding of where you stand in a roleplaying group.

Alright, "god-modding". What is it? Well, I'll tell you......

By definition:

1. Godmoding (often incorrectly spelled as "godmodding") is a term used in message board based role-playing games to describe two behaviors of players. The term comes from the "god mode" found in many video games, allowing a player to activate features such as invincibility, unlimited ammunition or lives, or similar power boosts. Godmoding is almost always frowned upon by other members of the game, because it is regarded as a form of cheating against the game's tactic rules.

Passive Godmoding:

Godmoding can occur when a player describes an event or a series of events his or her character has taken against another character or interactive object, most often with the purpose of rescinding negative effects previously encountered or granting some other effect inconsistent with an objective view of the narrative. This is sometimes also termed "Powermoding" or "Power-Lusting". For example, a character may be afflicted with a disease only curable by rare ingredients, yet another character is "lucky" enough to find these ingredients in ten minutes. Godmoding is thus often used like a "Get Out of Jail Free card" when things don't go the way a player wants, rather than working with previously unfolded events.

It is also used to describe the act of creating or playing with an invincible character or using "perfect" or "God-like" equipment (such as unbreakable armor), or possessing limitless power, etc. Some players will create a brand new character, and that character is automatically gifted with skills, and nearly impossible to take on right from the start. In many cases, this happens when a newer character goes against an established one: the newer player may roleplay his or her character as if it were equal in power and rank to the more experienced one.

Active Godmoding

Godmoding can also refer to the case where a player definitively describes the outcome of their own actions against another character or interactive object. For example, if player A states, "A strikes B and B takes damage", they could be considered to be godmoding. Another example of this might be where a character is facing multiple enemies, and they redirect one foe's attack onto another. For example, Player A states, "B misses A completely, and strikes C instead." This form of godmoding is also referred to as "Autoing". Active godmoding can also take the form of controlling characters that belong to someone else.

* Player A: Character A throws a punch at Character B.
* Player B: Character B dodges the attack, grabs Character A and throws him out of a stained glass window. Character A flies at Character B, who warps behind him and slashes Character A in the back.

Mary Sues:

A Mary Sue (sometimes just Sue), in literary criticism and particularly in fanfiction, is a fictional character with overly idealized and hackneyed mannerisms, lacking noteworthy flaws, and primarily functioning as wish-fulfillment fantasies for their authors or readers. Perhaps the single underlying feature of all characters described, as "Mary Sues" is that they are too ostentatious for the audience's taste, or that the author seems to favor the character too highly. The author may seem to push how exceptional and wonderful the "Mary Sue" character is on his or her audience, sometimes leading the audience to dislike or even resent the character fairly quickly; such a character could be described as an "author's pet".

"Mary Sues" can be either male or female, but male characters are often dubbed "Gary Stu", "Marty Stu", or similar names. While the label "Mary Sue" itself originates from a parody of this type of character, most characters labeled "Mary Sues" by readers are not intended by authors as such.

*Information taken as whole or in part from Wikipedia

Got it? Good! Now don't let me catch you god-modding!!! If I do, you will be warned. If you are caught continually doing it then the end result will be you labeled a royal douche and a kick from the group.

I am very serious. Now if you would answer the question, it would make your statements more valid. For now, I only have your word. To be very honest I have never seen you seriously involved with the group. If one of my staff members did god-mod I will first confirm that he/she did indeed violate the number one rule here in TNG13, then I will have his/her position revoked. I assure you, the "staff member" in question will never be trusted with a high-ranking position in this group again.

So tell me...when has a staff member from this group ever god-modded? If so, who was the person? What were the circumstances?

EDIT: El Oh El...nevermind....I saw your "zanpaktou" in the zp application. You're quite hilarious. You believe that my zanpaktou is overpowered and is now going to throw petty insults at me over the internet by making fun of it. Pretty lame dude. Grow up.

If you had these things called "eyes" you will clearly see that I have listed drawbacks that can easily counter my zanpaktou. If that is not good enough for you, like it was for the other members of this group then I do not know what else to tell you. All you are telling me is:

1) You're mad.
2) You're mad because you couldn't think of a good zanpakutou on your own and couldn't rise to a higher rank in this group. Thus, you decide to rip on me...saying that I....lol....god-mod.
3) You've got wayyyyy too much time on your hands to be able insult people like this over the Internet.

Okay so forget my first question.....answer this one instead: Why are you mad at me? What did I ever do to you to cause you to insult and try to place false accusations of god-modding on me like this?

Alright, I'll answer everything in the order you brought them up:

I am certain all of my members here know that I am very lenient and open-minded. I have asked Arashikaze074, and several others I do not remember their names (I believe zabuza212 and wolfwood012, back when he was my 2nd in command? I think?) whether or not my zanpakutou was overpowered. They stated my first one...the one that could block kidou was overpowered...and I agreed, so I changed it to this one and asked again. I remember they said it was fine. I have always and will always be open for criticisms...not blatant insults.

My zanpakutou is not the best written one. That much I have always known. I definitely could've wrote it much better...like re-wording, choosing better choice of words, etc. I am sure professional writers/ veteran RPers would agree and have a lot of criticisms and dislikes about my zanpakutou.

Yes, you did insult me. You obviously spent a fair amount of time re-wording my zanpakutou to make it sound much much more powerful than it is. To the point of it being just plain ridiculous. I am sure any writer would be very offended if you do what you just did to me to their writing.

Yes, I admit...I do not remember you at all. I don't remember befriending or talking to anybody by the name of AngelxReturn. The only time I've heard it was when one of my group members told me that you took over and wiped groups. Whether this is true or not, I do not know...nor do I really care.

By "Make your statement valid" I was referring to your first post in this thread....You suddenly dropped in and stated that our staff members god-modded...however you did not mention any names. That is why your statement was invalid until you mentioned a name. Luckily, I discovered your post in the ZP applications thread.

My ZP being considered quite overpowered is plausible. However, how is my character god-modding at all? And my rules? I believe I adhere to them quite well in fact.

I consider it to be false accusations because they are. I have never god-modded in my life. Have you ever role-played with me? I'm sure you haven't as I don't even think I know you despite the fact that you claim I did in the past. My zanpakutou may need some re-wording and better descriptions or choices of words, however I believe it is quite solid. Would you like me to re-word it? I feel it is mainly the way I worded the zanpakutou that made it seem overwhelming. I think I chose these words in an attempt to make my zanpakutou seem more flashy than it really is. On this subject I would like to put in quotations something I typed to you in a private message:

From what I see, you are running a standard RP group where everyone is on the same level...nobody is more powerful than the other. Everyone is equal and the same.

The way I am running it is different. I am encouraging people to have powerful zanpakutous. Yes, indeed. I want my members to make powerful zanpakutous. Why? Because it brings more fun to the RP. Let's face it, NOBODY wants to be weak. NOBODY wants a weak zanpakutou. NOBODY wants to have an insignificant character. TNG13 is meant for people's characters to shine.

My vision for TNG13 RP is STORYTELLING. Maybe I should've renamed the group. I've always thought I should've done that. Ask Arashikaze074, Dee. Ask her how I run my group. I hope this changes your view on myself in the RP game and TNG13 as a whole.

Now then...

I still DO NOT know and/or remember you at all from the past. I am still thinking but I still can't remember. Did you have a different account name back then? What groups did we compete each other? What group were you running?

Once again I'll answer everything in the same order you brought them up:

I acknowledge the fact that there are "ass-kissers" as I like to call it, as well as those who are afraid to stand up to creators because of the reasons you stated above. However, I believe I gave the newbies as well as the rest of TNG13 the impression that I am open to criticism and I do not play favoritism...nor do I ban or punish people unjustly. However, based on my EXTEMELY capable and INDEPENDANT- thinking Moderator's communication with me....I have conveyed this impression quite well.

I do not mind you giving me a fair criticism on the standard rules of RP. However, as I stated before I gave my members as well as myself the right to be as creative and powerful as they want to be. They just have have a good reasoning for it as well as adhering to the storytelling plots that are going on. All I required is that they include Drawbacks to their zanpakutou so as to refrain from making those that most in the general public will dub "All-powerful".

This part will cover all of the debates and points you put out about my zanpakutou....

I did state a bunch of rules that I require all of my members including myself to abide by. One of these is god-modding. I did not break them because of the fact that:

1) It is NOT almighty in any way, shape or form. I will pull the exact definition from the dictionary: Almighty- 1. Having absolute power; all-powerful.
Manipulating SPIRIT PARTICLES and having a huge ass dragon that takes up a football court as my Bankai is NOT absolute power nor is it all-powerful.
2)I remained true to our RP focus by letting the main focus of my creations to be towards telling a story

Now, I stated before if I re-worded my zanpakutou it would sound much less....."god-modded" as you said. Let's look at my zanpakutou for example:

Drawbacks. Shikai Form: My control of spirit particles is limited to the point that I cannot control the spirit particles in a fast moving attack coming at me, like a White Lightning. There is barely any spirit particles in the Material World, so I only have access to my own reiatsu when fighting there. I am very vulnerable to opponents with similar abilities. My range of the spirit particle manipulation is limited, so a person with very, very high speed attacks and agility that are higher than my own can outrun my attacks and perhaps even get within sword's reach of me. Also, an incredibly powerful kidou attack can shatter my spirit particle barrier.

Now if I were to rewrite to include more descriptive details of those "very high speed attacks" and" incredibly powerful kidou attack"

My range of the spirit particle manipulation is limited: I cannot control it everywhere, only in the immediate area....around a 20 meter range of myself. A person with speed equivalent to those of a seasoned captain-class shingami or higher than my own can outrun my attacks and perhaps even get within sword's reach of me. Also, an level 81 Kidou spell or higher can shatter my spirit particle barrier.

See the difference? The same applies to all the other aspects of my zanpakutou.

Back to your other points....

If there was a way we can have CR mods to check back to each profile's past to see who have they buddied before sure. I just looked through my entire PM inbox. Even those from back in 2007 when I first joined CR, (I never delete my inbox...mebbe I should *sigh*) NONE of the PMs in my inbox were from you. Also, the only time I ever heard about Central 46 was when Arashikaze074 was in command of it and she wanted TNG13 and it to be group affiliates. Sorry. You probably got me mixed up with somebody else.

My vision is storytelling exactly. However, basic god-modding rules apply. Even with storytelling as our focus, we can't have somebody RPing as Chuck Norris and roundhouse kick everybody to the face thus causing him to automatically win fights can we? THAT's the type of characters we want to avoid. We welcome powerful characters, zanpakutous, whatever.....we just do not want ALL-POWERFUL characters. You get me?

Alas, we then ask ourselves.....What is the limit? Who determines the limitations of how powerful our characters can be?

The answer is: Nobody

Nobody really has the right to tell another that his character is too powerful. However, we do have the right to tell you to remake your character either because it IS all-powerful, or it doesn't fit well with the current plot, or it doesn't fit with your current rank in the Gotei. This is how we limit our characters.

Be it that you disagree with this way of running a RP group. So be it. You run your own group, and let me run mine. My members are free to leave this group anytime they wish if they believe I am being unfair and/or god-modding. I will have no quarrels with them.

I will say this once more for a final time: I envision TNG13 to bring about storytelling....in a way to revolutionize RP. I am doing things differently from the norm. I understand people disagree with this way of doing things, however as I always say: To each their own.

Final note: I appreciate your willingness to argue your point in a literate manner, however I will not say I enjoyed this conversation. You came here abruptly. I wish the very best for your group and with Central 46 Chambers.

AngelxReturn......

Once again, thank you for agreeing to "debate" this with me over the thread rather than private PM. I think this is an issue that should've been brought up and discussed upon a long time ago. Result of my inactivity right? =(

However, I will counter your arguement one last time, if you wish to reply feel free to...but I really, honestly, truly have nothing else to say that can convince you.

To each our own...

Now on your points about my zanpakutou...

If you read above these sections I put about my zp, you will know that they pertain to my spirit particle manipulation.

"Form Weapons- I can use the particles to form my zanpaktou's blade into any shape."
You can manipulate your own soul into any shape, henceforth you are god.

Nowhere did it say I "manipulate my own soul". It says quite clearly in front of you "I can use the particles to form my zanpaktou's blade into any shape" How does this make me God?

"I can use the spirit particles as a barrier in front of and around me."
Unable to injure.

Really? lol.....A barrier is like a shield. I also stated below in my "Drawbacks" section that it can be breakable by high level kidou spells.

"we both control the spirit particles with unmatched power"
Unmatched - Almighty, reinforces my point to the extreme.

Unmatched power and control over the SPIRIT PARTICLES. See? It's the way I worded it I guess...however it seems very clear to me that I am talking about the SPIRIT PARTICLES.

"My control of spirit particles is limited to the point that I cannot control the spirit particles in a fast moving attack coming at me"
Cannot get hit unless its in the speed of light.. almighty.

"Fast moving object", I DID NOT say "speed of light". White Lightning, the Bakudo ability does not travel at the speed of light, or else you will not be able to shunpo or avoid it like they did in the anime. Light travels at 186,000 miles per second, nothing can top that.

"I am very vulnerable to opponents with similar abilities"
You are invulnerable unless fighting against someone with similar abilities.. almighty..

This is too funny....You are making this way too easy. Are you a troll? I am stating that I am vulnerable to opponents with similar abilities. I did not say I am invulnerable to everyone else. Did I?

For clarification, the definition of vulnerable: 1. Exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally: "we were in a vulnerable position".
2. (of a partnership) Liable to higher penalties

"And agility that are higher than my own can outrun my attacks and perhaps even get within sword's reach of me. "
In order to be faster then you / hurt you, they must be faster then you... makes no sense..
"Perhaps even get within swords reach of me" implies that nobody can even injure you.. though they MIGHT can get close to you.

It makes perfect sense. In a track runner race in order for somebody to beat you is to run faster than you right? Same applies for combat abilities. Faster than me is like being faster than an experienced captain-class shinigami, since I was the 3rd Division Captain.

Your points about my character..

"graduated from the Academy with top scores at the age of 12"
Top - Almighty / unmatched and you also mentioned near failing Kido.. yet still top scores?

This doesn't make me almighty. This actually doesn't make sense. You're right, I should've re-word it to something like, "I graduated with top scores in all other areas except Kidou, which I barely passed."

"I had to face the ULTIMATE Shinigami Challenge. The Legendary Grims Reaper"
You might as well go and say the chuck norris thing here..
"I was forced to use Bankai"
Forced.. tells a lot..

This was because a member wanted to include the Grims Reaper with me, himself and several others in a side story that will fold into the major plot. This was already agreed upon in advance. If you want, you may ask the gentleman in question his name is: westco3894. An excellant RPer I might add.

"many people speculated that I had Quincy blood in me"
This isn't really one of my points but just a note; Quincy's are humans / human blood

Quincy are humans....then again Kurosaki Isshin married Ichigo's Mom (forgot her name)....she was human I believe. So is Ichigo....sooo how does that work out? *shrug* Gotta ask Tite Kubo for that.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that.... is all I have to say....

Zanpakutou is the manifestation of one's soul. It is the form a person's soul takes. True fact.

So you are saying that shinigamis in general are all almighty because they do change the shape of their zanpaktous when transfering from Shikai and Bankai. What about Zabimaru? Renji's blade changes shape from a solid blade to a whip-like weapon. That's what I meant. Anybody can tell that that is what I meant lol. Nice try though.

Also, avoiding Byakurai means they avoided it. Meaning they got out of harms way. Dodging is avoiding it. What are you talking about? lolol

"This is too funny....You are making this way too easy. Are you a troll? I am stating that I am vulnerable to opponents with similar abilities. I did not say I am invulnerable to everyone else. Did I?"
"I did not say" = Basically didn't name a drawback then.
No difference..

I didn't name the drawback but it is definitely clear enough for a student who's passed 5th grade reading to tell that I mean that I am more vulnerable to people with similar abilities, not that I am vulnerable ONLY to people with similar abilities and nobody else. Maybe I'll put it in the drawbacks section just for you =P.

"This doesn't make me almighty. This actually doesn't make sense. You're right, I should've re-word it to something like, "I graduated with top scores in all other areas except Kidou, which I barely passed."
I'm only using your definition of almighty / look up synonyms for almighty and you'll see where I am going with this.
As top is "basically" meaning Almighty..
If you really don't like me saying Almighty, I'll just say God-like then.

What is this...I don't even.....

I will say this only one more time: I should've rephrased this part on my character evaluation to "I graduated with top scores in all other areas except Kidou, which I barely passed". There. That clear enough for ya? =)

"This was because a member wanted to include the Grims Reaper with me, himself and several others in a side story that will fold into the major plot. This was already agreed upon in advance. If you want, you may ask the gentleman in question his name is :westco3894. An excellant RPer I might add."
I will not argue with this as I have said I'd lay off.. though this doesn't change the fact that it is the "ULTIMATE" being and you said you were "forced" to use bankai..

I used the word "forced" to make it sound like it was hard to beat the Grim Reaper. He's the goddamn Grim Reaper! Would you rather me to say I just beat him and be done with it? You're contradicting yourself don'tcha think? Yea you're right, maybe I could've done away with the "ULTIMATE" part...but that was just for flashiness and all in good fun.

So you are saying that shinigamis are almighty because they do change the shape of their zanpaktous when transfering from Bankai to Shikai. What about Zabimaru? Renji's blade changes shape from a solid blade to a whip-like weapon. That's what I meant. Anybody can tell that that is what I meant lol. Nice try though.

Shikai and Ability is part of the manifestation of the soul, your one isn't just 3 forms, its ANYTHING.
Look it up yourself.. I don't want to get too descriptive.
"Nice try"

"I can form my zanpakutou's blade into any shape." It is a spirit particle weapon. My zanpakutou property is Spirit Particle Manipulation. It is no different from Renji's who's zp stretches and extends. Or Byakuya's whos zp splits into a thousand pieces. I can form my zanpakutou into any shape. How is that godly? What? I'm going to change the blade shape into the figure of Chuck Norris? lmao

"Also, avoiding Byakurai means they avoided it. Meaning they got out of harms way. Dodging is avoiding it. What are you talking about? lolol"
I didn't want to bold anything to imply that you are not reading ETC but I guess I'll have to.
before it fired

Let me break it down to you in the most simplest way possible. Avoiding- Means he got out of harms way, he avoided the attack. We do not know how but he did. You said he dodged it before he fired. So people can simply say...."He avoided the White Lightening by dodging it before it fired." OR if we wanna put it even simpler, "He avoided the White Lightening before it fired." Is this clear enough? I really really reaaallly hope so...for your sake. >.>

You first mentioned that you had drawbacks; which was same abilities and now you said you didn't mention any drawback regarding vulnerable to anything else.
That was what I was saying, Jeez, it was no difference from saying invulnerable in the first place, think about it.
And you mention "insulted" so far I have yet to throw actual insults at you except those mocking posts and now your trying to insult me / drag me down to a 5th grader.

It was different. I did not say Toyoki was invulnerable to anything else. I just said clearly he was vulnerable to people with similiar abilities. Is it really that difficult to understand dude? lol I apologize for the insult but really....is it that hard to understand man? lol

Forced doesn't imply hard, forced imply you can do it anytime / implying you can kill the Grim Reaper so long as you have Bankai on.

Forced does imply that it took effort to. So maybe that was just another bad wording on my part. Maybe I should've used "I struggled as I called out my Bankai with barely any strength left, using my Bankai, I was able to defeat the Grims Reaper." Is that better now? I personally think it's a mouthful when I can simply use "forced".

Another note: I think it's funny you're complaining about me insulting you when you started all of this. Karma at it's best. You asked for it, now you gotta deal with it.
