I didn't bother trying because it wanted my credit card details. Why does it need that if it is a FREE trial? The trial is a lie.

I can see that either free trials differ in the UK, or if they don't, that you haven't dealt with many free trials in your life.

I can tell you that if you check out 10 free trials for paid services from U.S. companies, you would be lucky to find one that doesn't require payment information up front, and which will start charging you at the end of the subscription.

One reason for this is that companies want people that are using the free trial to actually try out the service, and not people that want something free with no intention (or ability) to ever pay for this.

The other reason is that it is easier to get people to not do something (i.e., cancel a membership), than do something (enter credit card info at the end of a free trial if they liked it). A substantial number of people that actually liked the service would just say, "I'll subscribe later" at the end, and never get around to it.

If you want truly "free" premium access with no strings attached, I can PM you a code for a free pass, but it is good for only 48 hours from the moment you redeem it, not two weeks.

I'm sure there are reasons for them doing that, but I see it as unecessary and suspect they may charge me anyway despite it being labelled "free".

I'd also like to point out that adding payment details makes it much harder to continually create free accounts to take advantage of the trial.

Click on the wee drop down menu up by the search area

-Click settings
-on your left there will be a list of menus
-Click "premium membership status"
- Should say "anime/drama/full" member then in brackets for how many days (14/30/year) etc..
-to the right of that it should say cancel account

Other than that all I can suggest is make sure you verified your e-mail and bank details :)
