it's not gay to look at another mans nipple , just like it's not gay to take showers in the locker room with a bunch of dudes, it's only gay if you looking at the other dudes taking the shower

I'd say they hurt about the same. Needle maybe a bit less tbh. It's a different kind of pain.
With needles you can feel the sting right away, but it's a sharp needle so it's not much worse than cutting yourself shaving... and often people don't notice shave cuts until they know they have them. So it could well all be in the mind.
With guns you can feel the stud going in painlessly (it's REALLY weird), because it happens so fast your nerves don't have much time to respond so it only starts burning like a second after.
Though I found, especially higher up on my ear that gunned piercings hurt way more to sleep on. :/ it could just be the chunky jewellery, idk,

After reading that I think they should just ban the gun and learn to do it the professional way.

I agree ~~~ ban it!
personally, i'm scared of people who have piercing~~ one pair is fine~ but over 2x,3x and 4x... (my sis... yes i'm scared of her)
i wish there no store with piercing service~~~ I know it's impossible

@OP... piercings can become infected REGARDLESS of what device is used: Needle or Gun.

I'm sure the needle is a bit safer though. Plus the gun can't be used anywhere except the ear... so it's pretty shitty really.

I know this from experiance... i got probablly THE most safest piercing EVER and it rejected by my body - my white blood cells tried to eat the piercing basically, bless them... wore it for 7 months but it would just not heal up! (Was a PA btw)... suppose that's the joy of having a incredible immune system lol (and he's all better now too ) - I'd like to have seen them put a PA in with the gun hehee

If you think about it you're putting something forgin into your body... and there's ALWAYS a chance of rejection, infection or something else like it ripping because you've got weak skin or something.

When did I state otherwise?
Sure if you leave it to fester, just about any wound can become infected. I once heard of a guy who died from a splinter in his toe... though I think that may have been a leeeeeetleee exaggerated.

Just saying that you're increasing your chances by a fair bit if the equipment used isn't sterile to begin with.

Oh and about the only used on the ear thing... have a look through the thread. There was one in a lip and another in a navel..
A forum I was on even posted a link to a down there piercing done with a gun. I couldn't link it though cause of CR's PG13 rule.

Well i got my ears pierced with a piercing gun when I was little. Needless to say, it got infected >_>

I went to a tattoo and piercing place to get my nose pierced. It seemed a lot safer to me, and my the process was pretty painless, as was the healing afterward.

A friend of mine got her cartilage pierced with a gun though. It got infected and hurt really badly, and she had to remove it.

i prefer needles.
and the piercings with needles felt better... err it was like a nicer pain.
tho usually i felt more ticklish/itchy than pain during the piercing.
