I agree, main character was cliche idiot brute.

This is sort of hypocritical but the one I hate is an atypical character even though I just complained about a cliche character.

But one anime char that is annoying to me is Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Actual that whole anime is a pretentious overrated piece of crap.
