Eric shows his comic side behind the scenes of Poseidon

Granted, some of these are purely of the cast having fun between takes, like those picturing Eric and co-star Choi Jae-hwan (Pasta, Gloria) with the gun, but that pink moped is certainly part of the drama itself. And you know how nothing says manly elite special forces like two cops on a scooter decorated with flower decals.

The drama is currently shooting in the city of Gunsan, located on Korea’s western coast in North Jeolla Province, having begun its shoots on November 15. The productions plans to film about 30% of its footage there, which’ll no doubt prove to be a source of tourist promotion for the region.

The other main cast members are Kim Kang-woo (Story of a Man) as Eric’s teammate/rival and Kim Ok-bin (Thirst) as love interest, as well as singers-turned-actors Jeon Hye-bin (2009 Hometown of Legend) and U-Know Yunho in supporting roles.

Poseidon is planning for an early 2011 broadcast.

Sohn Hyun-joo cast as Poseidon’s baddie

Upcoming maritime police drama Poseideon — starring newly army-discharged Eric, new father Kim Kang-woo, and Thirst’s Kim Ok-bin — has its baddie, and it’s Sohn Hyun-joo, a familiar drama face who’s probably best known for funny ajusshi roles.

In Poseidon, he’ll play the man in charge of the elite Poseidon team who trains his men “ruthlessly.” His character is described as heartless and ambitious, who keeps his attention focused as much on his own career advancement as he does on his team.

Also cast in the drama: singer-turned-actors U-Know Yunho and Jeon Hye-bin, as well as the ubiquitous Kim Gab-soo. Poseidon is planning for broadcast in the first half of 2011.

Kim Ok-bin and Eric return project "Poseidon" step down?

She was due to make a comeback in four years with the drama "Poseidon" (written by Jo Gyoo-won, produced Yoo Cheol-yong) but she will be stepping down from it because of scheduling matters and unfitting conditions. A spokesperson for the drama says, "There were problems with scheduling as the shooting got postponed to mid-winter. Even the drawing for May has been recently postponed. Kim Ok-bin was one of the first to be cast for lead roles last September, but we can't hold her back for our scheduling matters".

With coastal police as the subject and the ocean as the main stage, it is impossible to film during winter. Gun-san being their main location, it has been snowing much and the cold was longer than expected so the filming has been postponed to mid March. Kim Ok-bin has now filmed about 30% of the entire first episode.

Kim Ok-bin's spokesperson said, "Nothing has been confirmed. There are different opinions because it's been a while since she started this. We are going through many different views".

Meanwhile, "Poseidon" is singer and actor Eric Moon's return drama and although TVfXQ's U-Know, and actor Kim Kang-woo were cast there are still some difficulties with the female role stepping down, drawing and acting.

Poseidon has gone too far, Eric in misbelieve "disappointed"

"Poseidon" still not making any progress.

"Posedion" which started filming back in November was suppose to be the successor for SBS drama "Midas". Filming was suppose to resume in June of this year but due to difficulties couldnt. Ultimately, drama "Lie to Me" took the place of "Midas".

In addition, Kim Kang Woo and Kim Ok Bin expressed their intention of dropping out of the drama. Yuno who is currently in the middle of overseas promotions and variety shows appearance is in no rush to do so and he hasnt officially drop out of the drama either.

Although, the officials from the production team have stated that they will be resuming filming in June there is no guarantees as now they have to replace those who droped out and are in the middle of liaising and re-casting new actors.

Eric's side stated, "Eric is tied down due to Poseidon contract". "There have been discussions about other projects including KBS2TV "Myung Wol the spy", and as "Poseidon" still his first priority, puts him in a very difficult situation".

In addtion, "Posedion" is a marine police rescue team where the audience will be able to see their human side and sacrifices they make for each other.

"Poseidon" officially canceled

"Poseidon" a drama which once boasted Shinhwa's Eric and TVXQ's U-Know Yunho as stars, has officially stopped production, according to production company H2O.

"Poseidon" was first announced in late 2010 as a drama following a special maritime police force. Filming was delayed in December due to bad weather and the disaster at Yongpyeong Island, and little filming has occurred since. Following the delay, the drama lost their airdate from SBS. Since then, three members of the cast, including Kim Kangwoo and Kim Okbin, left the show, and attempts to sell the drama to another network have failed.

The final straw for "Poseidon" was the resignation of Eric, who decided to accept a role with KBS's new drama "Myungwol the Spy". Eric's agency spoke with NoCut News and said, “We have come to an agreement with the production company to withdraw Eric from his role in ‘Poseidon’. Since filming 20% of the first episode in December, we have been waiting for filming to resume, but as the situation became uncertain, we have decided to withdraw Eric from the production. We then decided to have him appear in the drama ‘Myungwol The Spy'."

H20 had intended to resume shooting "Poseidon" in June. While speaking to NoCut News over the phone, a representative of the company said, "Production has been suspended completely,” and quickly hung up.

“Poseidon” gets revived for KBS broadcast this September!

After the disappointing news of action drama “Poseidon” officially getting canceled for filming and broadcast early last month, it looks like the drama has been revived after all!

The plot of “Poseidon” is based around the self-sacrificing work lives of four elite maritime policemen, and had originally cast Shinhwa’s Eric, Kim Ok Bin, Kim Kang Woo, and TVXQ’s Jung Yunho.

A representative of the producing team stated, “As Korea’s first ever maritime drama series, we believe viewers will be able to feel a sense of satisfaction as they follow a string of mysterious police cases. Viewers will be able to confirm for themselves the grand scale and roughness of Korea’s beaches.”

Because of the uncertainty hanging around the status of the drama earlier, the original cast had all left for other projects and work is being done to get a new cast on board as soon as possible.

The blockbuster drama has been scheduled for broadcast this September on KBS 2TV, after the completion of the upcoming drama series, “Spy Myung Wol”.

Choi Siwon, Lee Sung Jae, & Lee Si Young confirmed as new main cast for “Poseidon”

After facing many issues with regards to its production, “Poseidon” has now confirmed that it’s finally on course for its September broadcast date.

The drama’s production company, KBS, announced on August 1st that actor Lee Sung Jae, actress Lee Si Young, and actor/singer Choi Siwon would be the main leads for the drama.

With only one month remaining until the show airs its pilot, the main cast will gather together on August 2nd for a script-reading session; they will then plunge straight into full-scale shooting.

“Poseidon” had met with a lot of issues and was originally scheduled to air in March through SBS. Unfortunately, plans fell through and the original cast – comprised of Eric, Kim Kang Woo, Kim Ok Bin, and TVXQ’s Yunho – subsequently left for other projects.

The project was resurrected in mid-June by KBS, although many had concerns as to whether “Poseidon” would actually take off, since the main cast members were undecided until today.

“Poseidon” is tentatively set to debut on September 5th, replacing “Spy Myung Wol“.
