@ thefirstknight
I never had a FORTRAN class but it was included in my certain major subs. Sorry that PL is old and we weren't trained to program with that. So, I can't help you with that. Well if I scan a bit with my notes, maybe I can give you something.

@ Mrbadguy
I like your major but I am only capable with HTML coding and of using Dreamweaver. Even so, I want to learn asp, php and flash. Want do you have there?

@ Micael
You are awesome. I am very weak at those.

We were using C, C++ and Pascal when VB was introduced to us. I guess, i was a sophomore that time. OOP is fun. But right after VB, foxpro followed, HTML, then Java. I was so full with my major and became overloaded with those things (yet IT trends kept on rising, and it’s difficult to cope up). I'm starting to hate it but i end up with a programming job after graduation. LOL. Well, after quitting the job, i am now skeptical if i can program again. Gosh! i need to scan my books. Read. Learn Practice.

I am now willing to study flash and PHP though.

That's great! Yeah, programming always changes. Probably another one will come out after I graduate or something.

Medical science I'm majoring in Optometry. (currently taking pre-optometry)
I'm also worried about taking organic chemistry next year. Maybe we can help each other out.

Organic Chemistry is easy. You just have to memorize the thousands of individual synthesis combinations and influencing factors due to states.

See, piece of cake.

Fuck Chemistry. Fuck Calculus. Fuck Physics. Fuck Algebra.

I would considering getting cancer than having to suffer through 4 more years of this shit.

These subjects are only comprehended by less than 10% of the population. I understand them, but their practical uses are a major hindrance to Humanity(except for Medicine, all the others are used to keep other countries close to war as the Cold War arms rae continues).

If they were using them to clean up the planet in an organized manner, I'd understand forcing them down our throats, but the technologies are just passed from one generation to the next, and the next generation abuses them even more.

We have upgraded to our national nuclear arsenal to neutron bombs, all thanks to Nuclear Physics. At least ,WWIII will be fast and painless.

Let me just say one thing. I would never focus only on the bad side of a Science, Religion or Philosophy in order to judge it. And by the way, Psychology which you seem to love so much has also been used badly and very badly I must say. In any facet of human thought there is going to be negatives. The laws of Physics have been there since the beginning of time; if you are going to hate something, don't hate truth and knowledge, hate the ignorance and stupidity so common among the human race.

Praise Chemistry. Praise Calculus. Praise Physics. Praise Algebra.
Fuck ignorance. Fuck close-mindedness and Fuck immorality; they are the ones responsible for the misuse of Science, Religion, and every other type of discipline.

I lol'ed at that...

The practical use of those subjects span well beyond the narrow scope that you've placed them in. They are by far, not a hindrance to society at all. Without those subjects have the shit you're using wouldn't exist. And I'm pretty sure more than 10% of the population understand the basics of each subject, and the need to understand it farther in depth isn't required. But to completely reject them is just pure stupidity.

Havent seen you post in a while.

I kind of agree with the first guy. SCREW YOU SCIENCE! I only use you on a daily basis but I dont want to know how you work or why or how to fix you or when to. I dont care if all the chinese kids beat the heck out of us at least I can have a satisfied sigh knowing that I didnt know how they did it.(sarcasm)

You need to know some of this junk but a lot of it isnt practical and I mean talk about boring. Couldn't we have education be a little more exciting? Or at least presented more excitingly?

Hmmm... I am a 1st year Pre-Med student (University of Iowa), but that will probably change next year. It's not that I dislike science, it's that I now realize that after 300+ hours of hospital volunteering, that I don't want to do it very much anymore.

I'm probably going to take more Biology and Chemistry.. perhaps delve into the nanosciences. That would be fun and interesting. Hopefully they have classes here that prepare for that. I've always liked Biology and I like thinking about things on the small, molecular scale (even though sometimes, Chemical equations can be rough). I'm not amazing at it.... but I am much better than most of my class (of almost 800 people).

Aside from that... I am pretty good at writing philosophy papers and English papers. Writing, in general is my talent. Sadly, I can't seem to find my inspiration for writing my planned novel. Writing on your own is so much different than picking apart a novel or essay for rhetorical analysis/symbolism/themes/etc.

Maybe I should become a writer rather than I scientist? At the University here, they have a great Writer's Workshop. Hmmm...

I also am studying music theory, because in my free time I write music with two bands and will be doing shows in around February with one of them.

I don't know... college is less intellectual for me and more about figuring out what I really want to do. And then getting no help from anyone, because they all tell me I can do whatever I want.

Next semester in mid-January, I will begin my student teaching bloc. If that goes well, then my state will award my efforts with a teaching license (I hope...). Be afraid, your children's future lies within the hands of a crazy WoW addicted anime otaku. Be even more afraid if you are living in the Southwest United States and are of high school age. Le Bwahahaha with a Tee-Hee on the side. >:) But yea, student teaching if very difficult so please wish me luck!
