Wow, at the age of 47... that is far too young an age for a man with such a great talent to pass away. Rest in peace to Satoshi Kon, arguably one of the best anime directors in the world. His ability to create psychologically complex and almost flawless series was truly phenomenal, a standout from today's anime industry, which is plagued with overused plots, cliched humor, recycled characters and cheap fanservices. I can only grieve about how much his full potential which he could have graced us with have faded away just like that.

Perhaps the best summary of my belief and respect for him.

thank you so much for sharing that link, the author of that post captured what made him and his movies so great perfectly

Such a huge loss- there was only one Satoshi Kon! I will be looking forward (sadly) to his last film, sure it will be beautiful like all the others. RIP!!

No [email protected] way... I have to buy all of his movies now. Paranoia Agent, Paprika, Perfect Blue, and Tokyo God Fathers were great films/series. This dude will be missed.

Ok, here's a plan I've been working on. If you're in, get you and your friends to politely contact http://www.annieawards.org and http://www.oscars.org/ to get Kon-san some honorary awards.

I was really saddened by the death of such a talented and wonderful individual who, through his work, gave us so many beautiful memories. May he rest in peace.
