I did save a dog, some sadistic bastard was shooting at him with an air gun.Got hit myself too, once but it wasn't too bad as i was wearing thick clothes.I took him home and from there my mom took him to a vet and after that to dog shelter. I guess that's also saving a life.

Wow.. what a crude thing to do; very righteous rescue man.

All of these replies are awesome btw.

Well no I haven't saved a human life. But I've saved plenty of animal lives and I've stopped bullies that were going way too far. Does that count?

Yes, I was really young, I think I was 11 or 12, when we were swimming, and there's this little black girl that jumped into the water, and started drowning while no one was paying attention to her, so I had to grab her and pull her out of the water.

When I was working in a grocery store, I went to the back to the lunchroom and found our market manager lying on the bench. I asked if he was alright, but could immediately tell that he wasn't. Even though he told me not to, I ran to the front of the store and called 911. The paramedics arrived and said that he was having a massive heart attack, and if I hadn't called them, he would have died within the next 10-15 mins from the blockage. Scared the living daylights out of me...but more so him. Scared him enough that he stopped drinking beer, stopped smoking, and started excercising and taking better care of himself.

I saved my nephew's life when he was falling from a tree... he was hanging over about a 100-150 foot drop (long story) and I climbed up onto the branch and then swung down by my hands to beside where he was hanging, then swung my legs up and hooked my ankles over the branch until I was hanging upside-down, and then had him stand on my hands, pushing him back up into the tree... Most. Terrifying. Experience. Ever. -shiver-

I've saved my younger cousins from drowning a couple times.

I don't think I've saved anyone other than family.

Hmm, well I've stopped plenty of fights, but I wouldn't call them life endangering.

I have counseled several people that were pretty suicidal. Some of them were pretty random encounters, especially ones encountered while playing video games, so in those cases identifying the person's subsequent situation is impossible. But it seems by the end of my counseling everyone feels better than at first, so I'd say I've saved lives in this way.
