Super Junior’s Choi Siwon and Donghae has been cast into Taiwanese drama Glamorous Challenge as the leading male roles.

According to Taiwan iFensi on the 24th, “The decision to cast Choi Siwon and Donghae into Glamorous Challenge has been finalized.”

Glamorous Challenge is a remake drama of a Japanese comic titled Skip Beat about a girl that gets betrayed by her long time boyfriend. In an attempt to get revenge, she debuts as a celebrity and the drama unfolds with the various events she experiences soon after.

Taiwanese actress Lin Yichen aka Ariel Lin(Kyoko) will be playing the leading female role. Choi Siwon and Donghae already appeared in her music video for Firefly last September which was how the two were brought up during casting discussions.

Choi Siwon’s(Shou)
character is a successful celebrity that chooses business over his girlfriend. Although he is able to capture the hearts of women with his charismatic looks, he often looks back on his memories with his innocent girlfriend.

Donghae(Ren) will be playing the role of a top star and is regarded as having the best looks and acting skills in the industry. He is also a mysterious figure of the leading female’s childhood, having disappeared when they were both young.

This will be Donghae’s first time acting so much attention has been put on whether he will be able to express a character with perfect looks but awkward emotions.

Glamorous Challenge will begin filming by March of next year.

I got all this from ALLKPOP~ xP
But I think part of the story is wrong but it is a drama so whatever. At least it is being made into a drama now. ^^
I just noticed I misspelled Glamorous as Glamerous ~_~" Major fail....
If a Mod sees this, can you fix it? please and thank you~

I can't imagine Ariel in this role. I'm sorry I really like her, but she is just too girly and too different from my image of Kyoko. I guess I just have to see this drama as another interpretation and Ariel just has to create her own Kyoko. But it propably won't be the same, not in the slightest
That makes me really sad but can't be helped. Of course if she plays it well I might change my mind...

I dun rlly look forward to this remake :(
Hopefully it will be an unexpected shock to me as i dun think siwon or donghae fits the role... and if this 2 actor... siwon should be ren instead of shou(for outer appearance) same for donghae.

Extravagant Challenge has finished filming! Well that is what Lee Donghae tweeted a while ago.
anyway there must have been a mistake somewhere because

I am sure that Siwon IS Tsuruga and Donghae IS Shou.

Who is going to watch this? It'll be out soon!

Personally, I am very excited about this because I love Super Junior and Skip Beat. I hope it's great.

Omg that looks awful hahahha

They could not have chosen a worst actor for Sho!

But well it will likely be worth the nostalgia and the laughs.

OMG!! I can't wait until the drama comes out! The anime was great and the manga is even better, I just hope they do a good job of portraying it in live action.

They pushed back filming for a while... I almost wish they would have put more thought into who they cast... oh well... you can't win them all...

of course the greatest thing that could happen is that a Japanese Drama would be made... then again, if they do decide to make a JDrama, I wish that 1) they would wait until the Skip Beat! manga is finished, 2) it would be several seasons, 3) They would be smart about casting

As for a second season of the Skip Beat! anime -

I had a chance to interview Kotono Mitsuishi (voice of Sailor Moon) at Sakura-Con - and she explained that basically the cast/staff are never sure whether or not the anime will be picked up for another season... so there's a chance that there may be no second season...

Here's a bit from my interview:
"Q: Since Sailor Moon was your first role, and it lasted for so many seasons, what was it like to say goodbye?

Mitsuishi-san: The series ended up having 5 seasons, which means I worked on it for 5 years. In Japan when doing anime of that length, at each year you have to be able to wrap up the anime because you do not know if it will be picked up the next year. So each time that came around, the studio was a little nervous – will we be picked up next year? – and somehow each time we managed to get the all clear and do it again. During those five years I enjoyed it so much – what I was doing with everyone – that I thought when it finally finishes up, I want to have no regrets, so all the way up to the end of the series I wanted to do my very best in my lines and dialogue."
