Hi,

I tried to watch the current Fairy Tail episode on the iPad app, but the button for the subtitles gone.
Restart etc. did not help. Any hint?

Best,

We've changed our system and are now hard-subtitling the videos for the iPhone and iPad. This means that you will no longer have to manually select a subtitle track and the subtitles will be much larger when viewed on the iPad. Though an error seems to have occurred with encoding this particular video since there are no subtitles, so we'll have it fixed as soon as we can.

I'm also having subtitle issues. I tried watching Gintama yesterday and many of the subtitles were cut off. It was unwatchable, imo. Now I'm trying to watch Demon King Daimao and the same thing is happening. I've only watched episode 1 & 2 so far, having an issue with playback on 2 where the demon dog attacks. The subtitles keep advancing but the video is frozen.

I'm trying out the service for 2 weeks and I REALLY want to give you my money every month. I'm retired and have too much time on my hands so catching up on anime really appeals to me. (Need those missing Bleach episodes up though! I'm at 161! lol) And ya I know it sounds creepy because I'm a Grandma but I've been a geek for over 35 years and was watching anime before a lot of you were even a gleam in mom's eye. lol I hope you'll get the kinks worked out because the iPad + streaming anime = thewin! (Reading manga on it rocked too until recent events.)

Edit: Wow, hate to say this but I moved on to Occult Academy and the subs were a bit cut off at times but with ep.2 there were no subs. I rebooted my iPad but it didn't change. I'm watching the episode on my pc so I know the subs exist. lol So there are some issues with the iPad app?

We are in the process of re-converting all of the videos; so, when this is completed, most subtitle issues will be a thing of the past. However, due to the large amount of videos, only the newest releases are hard-subtitled and the rest should be converted in a month. So If you feel you will not be able to utilize the service due to these current issues, please check back in a month to see if our new setup is to your liking.

Well thank you for the timely reply! I'll just trust that you'll be a man of your word and leave my subscription be. But might I suggest posting a list of 'fixed' videos so we know what will be watchable?

I just tried to watch the latest episode of Naruto in my iPad, and the subtitles were practically unreadable due to the bad quality of the video... Is this going to be fixed?

Do we have to redownload after it's fixed?

The videos look great on the small iPhone screen but, if it looks bad on the iPad, you may need to bare with us until we release higher quality videos for the iPad. That will most likely happen after we fine tune the hardsub system and re-convert the iPhone videos using it.

And you won't need to re-download anything after we update the videos.

Trying to.watch hotelier and have no subtitles at all. I'm also having to reboot just to get the video working sometimes. Using the latest version of the universal app and the last iPad only version. Both apps display then same problems.
