So I know a good amount, though for any language one's lexicon is never really finite....especially through watching anime, shows, and movies..I'm learning new conjugations and wording almost everyday, though some are more common than others.

Same situation here. I've only been studying for about a year, so I'm not quite at the level where I can watch sans subs, but I certainly am picking up a lot of more "casual" Japanese [as opposed to Genki/Classroom Japanese].

Honestly that's one of the best approaches. I'm getting into the intermediate level Japanese class this upcoming semester, but exposing yourself to shows, movies, and other mediums are equally as powerful..especially things like the news or talkshows...it really does help a lot with familiarization...I try for both approaches when the time is available!

がんばてね!

Exactly, but it's daunting how much I have left to learn, especially for my end goal of being able to pick up and read Japanese light novels. So many more kanji to absorb and watching anime doesn't help much in that regard. Just have to spend thousands of hours studying.
