OK I've come to acknowledge that most people were upset about the fact that L dies in death note some go as far as to claim that he faked it.
now here's what i want to know "why?", why do people get so upset over his death I don't get it i personally put it at one of my favorite parts of the series. I will admit the light Vs. L half was (in my option) was the better half of the anime. Yes i know I'm gonna here it from fans of near and mellow for that. also im not gonna hide the fact that i hate "L" the reason for my hate is simple and can be explained in one word "Misa" for those who are confused its because of how he treated Misa that i hate him (the Torture to the point of her begging for her death). she was in my option the best developed person in the entire anime. Here is my challenge to L lovers out there give me a good reason to care about his death half as much as you do. |

You mean 'in my opinion', not 'in my option' right?
Well, coming from a L fan / not really a Misa fan who watched Death Note around 3 years ago, it's probably since due to the fact that he gets killed so suddenly, suddenly forcing us to these two new characters out of the blue, which isn't really all that nice to the other L fans, especially when there has been so much tensions and climaxes between Light and L before his abrupt death. No offense, but Misa gets no where as near character development as the other main characters... but then, it's your own opinion, so yeah. |

I heard that it was supposed to end there, but because it was so popular, more storyline was created. I don't know if that's for both the manga and the anime, cuz I never read the manga.
I'm sure if it did end there it wouldn't have been as abrupt an ending as if you just stopped watching after episode 25, but I'm pretty sure Near and Mello weren't originally supposed to be part of the story. I was actually more upset that Light died than L. |

Misa is a horrible character. She follows Light around like a dog slavishly and makes him her life when he has no love for her. When she gets the Death Note she kills people not out of some duty she has of changing the world, but just because she wants to meet Kira. She's annoying stupid and clueless. Hell, Ren (one of the better characters)
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide gives up her life for Misa just for the brat to stay alive and annoying. As for L. He is not an entirely white character. Though far better than Light he still uses techniques that legally go beyond the law. However, he was a way more likeable character by a longshot than Misa. He had personality, quirks, as well as the intelligence that drew me to him. Seeing him work things out and get closer and closer to the truth was way more fun than watching Misa get led around like a pet. Also considering what Misa did to those people when she tried to contact Light including innocents like TV anchors, I feel L's crimes don't compare really. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide His death, while inevitable, was one of the sadder parts of the anime for me. |

In my opinion, I though L was a really great character (My favorite in the series to be exact
). In addition to having great intelligence , he also had his cute little perks, like his love for sweets for example. I actually found his death to be very sad, even if it was potentially inevitable. Aside from the fact that he wanted to bring the wrongdoings of kira to justice, although he might not have showed it much, he also cared about his team's safety and well-being. He put his own life on the line for the whole cause. And another thing, I personally don't think Misa was a well-developed character. The only motive that was behind her actions was just her obsession with Light(Kira). She had no real goal. Some of the innocent people that she killed was just for her own selfish benefit to meet Kira. Basically, she was just an annoying lap-dog that Light would constantly bend to his will. A puppet. |

Warning please don't take it too personally but.........OH no you did not just say that Misa was the most developed charater She is beyond simple that its moronic. A weak simpleton who clings onto a male because she has no original thought and her only virtue is that she's cute. Misa to L " I love light because ummm... i love light"?!? How can you stand her she drives me nuts. >O<' As for you question I think people are upset because you are lead to beleive that L is the best of the best in detective work so you can't imagine someone else catching Kira. It's like if you killed Sherlock Holmes. No matter how good Watson is he's no replacement. Same goes for N and Mello. Like you stated the best scenes where with L and Kira. Plus I don't want to sound like I'm on team Kira but two people ganging on one psycho kinda sad>>> it like the bad guy was being bullied. lol |

why is there never enought hours in the day to watch all your favorite anime?

I think that... Misa is a very developed character. To say that a character is or isn't developed is to judge the depth of their personality, but it's possible you just don't understand that depth because your own personality is different than Misa's.
Someone else might say the same thing about you, like what was said about Misa, see? It's just because that someone doesn't understand you. So... I don't think anybody is simple or moronic or shallow or has an undeveloped personality, even characters on TV. You need to step into other people's shoes in order to understand them, and logically, you can never do that completely. And I was sad when L died. I was sure he faked it. But now I think he really died... like a sacrifice in order to help Near and Mello win. But then, I was really really sad when Light died, too. To say that L shouldn't have died is wrong, because the story is how it is. But I think his character is fabulous how it is... and even when he treated Misa badly, he is the type of person who does what needs to be done, as well as he can-- because he was trying to reach a solution (catching Kira). Reaching that solution required going as far as he could to question Misa. He didn't see any other way to do it. |
