Battle Angel Alita.

Hmm... bio...

Androids/cyborgs, martial arts, crazy flan loving evil genius, etc.

This is James Cameron's favorite manga and he owns the rights for a movie.

We all heard of great manga like Fruit Baskets and One Piece, but what about the others that don't make the top 10 list even though they deserve it? I though it would be nice if everone listed one of there favorite manga that isn't widely known. Hopefully people will read your post and check out the book.

Reminder: please give a short bio on your selected title.

My personal favorite is Kimi wa Pet >>> its about a successful over stressed buisness women who meets a homeless young handsome guy. She offer him free food and rent all he has to do is be her pet ( no sex) just act like her dog. Soon feelings develope and things get complicated. It's super funny and edgy

I don't know if you know yet but they have your manga as a japanese drama already. matsumoto jun plays the homeless man =)

My favorite manga is Barietchi, as you can see by looking it up I'm more into romance. I find anime better though, and find the whole 'knowing what will happen in the anime because you've already read the manga' to lower the acme moments of the show. More for grown ups in my opinion.

It's a spin off of Bleach made by a truly magnificent fan. It's how Bleach should be, exploring more of the characters inner workings and there respective relations with other characters. LOL

I think everyone was nailed perfectly, though Orihime's representation could've been less eristic and more odd and giving, it's more Rukia's department (who in my opinion was also done very well). But nonetheless the character of Orihime hit the spot nicely otherwise.

For me a gem of my collection is a 20 volume series by Masahito Soda

It is called Firefighter Daigo of Fire Company M....
Rookie firefighter Daigo Asahina can't believe his bad luck when he's assigned to the district with the fewest fires on record. But now that Daigo has joined Fire Company M, things won't stay quiet for long. His offbeat methods and uncanny instincts soon have his fellow firefighers wondering whether he's a hero or a menace!
{quoted from the Viz site}

Yes the series was fortunate to get translated by Viz, but it never hit it off like one of the 'big 3', so the volumes are out there, just rough to find...it's defiantly a series you will need to sit and special order each volume from the local book store or order online through somewhere like Amazon. One may get lucky and find pieces of the series at a convention. It has never been scantilated either (meaning you will HAVE to buy it to read it), so Viz literally took a leap of faith on publishing the series even though it never took off in great force like say Naruto or Bleach....

It did end up spawning a like 12 episode drama called "Fireboys" which wasn't too bad, but it did change around a few things or alter a few items of the story from the manga...

Yeah I saw it and its great... Jun was so cute and did the part well. Though I could do without the shirtless scene, he is like a size -0 way too skinny for my taste. LOL

Omg i so agree with you. Immortal Rain is such a good manga. The story, the characters are awesome and the female lead doesn't suck.

Dengeki Daisy

Info:When Teru's older brother died, she was left with little more than a cellphone containing the text-address of an elusive character named DAISY, who Teru's brother had told her would "support her when he was no longer able to." DAISY became Teru's pillar of strength, over the next few years as he sent her encouraging words through his phone, whether inspiring or mere chatter, as she faces her life alone.
One afternoon, after bullies from the student council are mysteriously driven away, Teru accidentally breaks a school window, which results in her working for the grouchy, cruel school janitor named Tasuku Kurosaki. As Teru begins working for the unlikable school janitor, her feelings begin to surpass that of master and servant and she begins to question DAISY's true identity. Could Kurosaki be her beloved DAISY? Meanwhile, Kurosaki is finding himself steadily drawn to Teru. Will he "reach out" to her?
