i would say fairy tail or d. gray man if it still continued. reborn would never be one of the big 3, but would always be slightly below them. i have not watched fairy tail yet but i've heard it's good and will be another long running series.
d gray man could've been the big 3 but it stopped before the story ended.. so unless they start releasing episodes again, i doubt it would be one of the big 3

everyone seems to be talking about the big animes as if they need to be long to be the best, also discussion has really only been of long running shonen animes when there are many series out there that are of a much higher quality and originality but are just maybe less mainstream and therefore less viewed by most people on here.

Fairy Tail is also supposed to end at 50 episodes i think, its quickly catching up with the manga.

Gintama has finished and D. Gray man is awful.

I don't like how short the arcs are in fairy tail, well in most manga I read, Fairy Tail Arcs are short. But I still like it.

Reborn! was intended to be a gag manga. But when it started failing, the creator added fighting into it and it went uphill there.

I'm surprised nobody said Soul Eater, :(. I like the series and the concept of the manga.

Fairy Tail probably has the best shot at it

Personally I think Kenich should have done better than any of the Big 3, but go figure

Beelzebub has a huge amount of potential but it's too young at the moment. If it gets an anime now it'll most likely be a 12 episode run.

Negima I think is a fairly under estimated series. when it goes into full Battle Manga mode it's as good if not better than any of the Big 3 but it tends to veer off into Romantic Comedy too often to really catch on in the US. I think Jumping genres as much as it does helps it as a Manga but hurts it when it comes to being an anime hit.

Gintama I'm afraid is going to remain a nitch show. It's awesome and all but the humor won't catch on with anyone except Otaku.

I figure it's Fairy Tail or something we haven't seen yet

Reborn should be one of them.

I take it the "if" means you haven't heard:

Im still waiting for a Hiromu Arakawa (full metal alchemist) material.. is there any..for the future?

anyways whichever have
1. assorted characters
2.great storyline
3.action packed
4.many issues that tackle on.
5.an energetic lead
6.and a whole package in one.
will prevail......!!

is there a chance that a shojo series will take a lead..? let's wait and see.

what about an another Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto) work?

I find it to be the opposite... The anime is alright, but the manga is terrible (especially after the point the anime ends at).
