I was kind of weird out when I watch Canvas 2 like 3 years ago. But overall it was subtle enough that it was not very outrageous. I didn't really mind the taboo love.

Later in my experience in Anime I learned that there are some people with oneechan/oniichan fetish even though they are not related by blood.

So, what I am really trying to ask you guys, who do these anime attract and are there not enough of this type to be a genre itself like harem?

I have yet to see outright incestous relationsips in an anime. I know for a fact it is outlawed in almost all countries in the world, Japan included.

True there are many hints and indications but those can be misinterpreted. Could simply be stronger than usual sibling affection. People tend to jump to conclusions about these things. But no I don't approve of it, love does need boundaries.

Well it's just anime really. I don't mind it as long as it's not anything crazy.

They're for people who like to think. Those who find it interesting to explore the dark corners of morality through fiction and exercise their brains contemplating philosophical and psychological issues. Personally, if they're like Koi Kaze and treated intelligently they're pretty interesting but if they're just low-brow excuses for fanservice or porn you can count me out.

Thats because Incest is a freaking hit with Otaku. Im not worthy of being called an Otaku....but id love to watch a romance anime with incest....it means they already have deep deep relations and memories with that person.

Closest thing I ever saw to incest was Kiss X Sis Tv....and that was great

Edit: And while Im posting here.....was there ever a Canvas 1 anime? I think i attempted to watch the first episode of Canvas 2....but then I convinced myself I should wait till I watch Canvas 1.....but I could never find it.....is there any anime called just "Canvas"?

Go look up Aki Sora =p I believe there are 2 OVA's and the manga.

Edit: I suppose I should specify it's closer to hentai than it is to romance

Isn't about every anime crazy?

Oh yeah, I did watch Koi Kaze like a year ago. I keep forgetting the name because I keep confusing with it with Kaze no Stigma as each anime has a romance among the characters who are related by blood.
Koi Kaze was somewhat beautifully made.

Fun fact

Incest is currently one of the more popular genre for Hentai (next to Futanari, Lolicon, and Yuri).

In terms of who it appeals to, usually the first criteria is people without siblings. For people with siblings, when the topic of incest comes up, the first thing they tend to do to get a grasp on the topic of it is think about their own sibling. Usually the first reaction there is a natural "ew gross, I'd never 'be with' my sibling", so they universally discard the idea of incest. But something they don't tend to think about, is that relationships that turn into incest are usually a different situation from their own, therefore their experiences do not apply to the understanding of real incest.

I personally like incest stories, because usually the love is a lot more mutual and honest. It takes some real love to ignore what society defines as acceptable love and commit yourself to that relationship (by this logic, I prefer homosexual (well, yuri, not guys) stories as well over regular romance).

Parent-child incest often is a very different secnario, and is a rare scenario for romance stories. Sibling incest and parental incest really need different terms.

In terms of the subgenre harem, if you see a location where they'd list "harem", listing "incest" is becoming more common. In my observations at least. Most places want to stick with major genres like action, romance, etc, but those aren't useful enough. Places making an effort to be useful will adapt more genres, usually starting with harem, ecchi, and slice of life, and progress on to yuri/yaoi/incest, mecha, magical girl, etc. But drawing the lines of genre is tough, things may get even more specific as media infinitely grows, maybe adding a genre like "crazy" (Excel Saga, Gintama,...).
