The bible, if it's true or not I do not know, but it is a guide people have used to educate their children on mistakes done in the past. It is also used as a reference on positive things as well.

Some parts are fiction and lessons to be learned from: "the moral of the story is", other parts are fact and a record of the history of the past...

Other than that, it's probably had a ton lost in translation and altered by various powers through the ages, so I don't know what to believe anymore.

Started out non-fiction, but translations from the years has made it possible be fiction. Lost in translation was a large part of the bible. Just like when you have two different translators for anime and get different meanings of what is going on!

This is a pretty interesting question. My dad is a pastor so I've been around the Bible my whole life. I'd say nonfiction in a heartbeat because of my convictions and how much proof I've seen with my own two eyes. Trust me, being a pentecostal preacher's son can have some pretty crazy stuff to go along with it. I've seen people with no ears hear and people with no tongue grow one and talk and scary stuff like demon possession(not like the movies portray it). Most people won't believe me, honestly I've even questioned if they were gimmicks but I saw my dad, grandpa, and great grandpa's life so I know they were sincere and believed it happened. Unless someone else set them up, they were real.
Anyways, that's all beside the point. The only thing that makes me question calling it nonfiction is because a lot of the Bible is in fact parables(NT) and rules(OT) with some stories and accounts thrown in their. I also know that there are too many religions out there who change the Bible to meet their needs which says in the Bible is wrong. It's still written by man even if it is God inspired so it makes me wonder sometimes if there is error in it. I saw a documentary on the History channel one time that said through all the versions over the so many years the Bible has been found in writing, they said there are only 3 errors that they could find and they were tiny. At the same time I know that there are lots of other books written for the Bible that when the Bible was put together the group of people prayed to see which books belonged in the completed Bible. Lots were left out. Who is to say those books shouldn't be there? I think questioning the Bible is a very healthy thing and doesn't make me doubt, it just makes me try to find out more truth about it. So many of the history recorded in the Bible lines up with other civilization's history so I think that helps a little if you ask me.

You'll forgive me if I don't believe you either. My experience with these kinds of miracles is that only the believers ever witness them. Wouldn't such an obvious display of divine power be better used if shown to those who don't believe? I'm not a believer, but I can think of a better application of these powers than simply showing them off to people who already believe in them. If I could replicate the miracles of Jesus, I'd travel the 3rd world creating food for the hungry, not healing the deaf (conveniently the hardest miracle to prove of them all, since the reality is they could probably hear all along).

Actually I think I saw another episod eof that series, about moses parting the red sea,but they said it was actually the reed sea and could have been due to the wind. But I'm sure that boat didnt have thousands of animals on board.

Well maybe it did or maybe it didn't, but nothing is impossible for god it was a HUGE boat, and it did take YEARS for Noah And his family to built it

I'm sure there is a nugget of truth in most of the bible stories, but they dont convince me,it must be nice to have such faith(I don't mean that sarcasticly).Perhaps he could of had his farm animals on board.

Isaiah 45:7

I form the light and create darkness,
I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the LORD, do all these things.

God does what ever the fuck he wants. Proof that the bible contains some truth.

But there's really no way I'm ever going to read that poorly edited mess.

Your teacher could lose their job over that. But the Bible is still a total work of Fiction.

Actually I have a question for anyone that knows the answer:

In the original, or earliest dated Bible, does it ever say anything along the lines of "This text is the truth."?

FICTION.
tell me, where did god come from? and most people i ask they give me " we dont know blah blah blah BUT hes real"
Where do you get talking snakes? people give me " god created that talking snake"
then tell me, so why arnt our animals talking now?? people say " cose god stopped em talking"
well from this, seems that god is a bias to other animals and take the snake as the almighty one that can talk.

All i know that the bible is full of morals and teachings to help in life using made up stories that teaches a different view to life
and from my 3--5 years of learning religion in school == still learning
maybe it is okay to say its non-fuction cose of the stories and the evidence that has been found and all the crossover of stories in other religions.

but i think its FICTION due to unanswered Questions.
and i stopped believing because of these questions that god to me a year ago during my religion class in school

Fiction! As it has been confirmed the bible is a colmination of different 'Stories' put together!! There is no proof that they ever happens - most are just hearsay!! But I think that's not the point - I think it's meant to be the messages that are to be read and understood not to believe what is written!! Stories are stories ... anyone can make them up! No fact or proof to say otherwise!!
