yes and no??? lol...the basics are easy ...the conversation is quite hard..~~and also the writings~~

you can learn the basic by watching a lot of anime><!! :)) like arigatou, ohayou, itadakimasu, daisuki, sugoi !, kakoii...those words are quite easy to learn... Watching drama is also good too...so that you can understand japanese culture...~~

for conversation- just buy some HOW TO SPEAK JAPANESE..and learn it...~~

the writings...~~ im not sure..but just look in the internet..~~ i think u can learn it if u practice enough..:) hehe>3~~

GAMBATTE FOR BOTH OF US..i've been learning for 4 yrs~~:)) hehe>3~~ im still not fluent though..haha:)!!

One trick i learned while studying spanish was to watch kid's shows with captions. They tend to speak more clearly and not use a huge vocabulary.

Yep..my friend and my cousin both have japanese class and they're kind of having a hard time..especially my cousin..well my friend is pretty much getting the hang of it so yeh..you have to learn different types of letters?or language?or something..like hirigana..like that..

sooo..yeh..it actually depends on a person if it's hard or not..
you have to be super focused and it will be easy for ya XD

if you have enough dedication to learning japanese, its very easy.

i bought a book called "japanese in 10 minutes a day" and it really helps me out!

No. It's really easy when you learn when you're a kid, like all languages. As you get older, it's harder to learn.

I've heard good reviews for Rosetta Stone, but I don't have any experience with it myself.

I tried out Rosetta Stone for a few minutes and said "F*** THIS!" I'm not really a visual learner though.

I learned quite a lot from looking up words in a software Japanese-English dictionary while watching anime, and from actually listening closely when I'm watching anime.

I've also been going through a 1st year Japanese textbook. I only went through a little bit at first, and then I didn't touch it for years. I only started going through it again recently, but It's really helping things come together for me. I'm kind of glad I didn't just start trying to understand what was in the book before figuring out a lot of things from just listening.

I've just been too lazy to learn the Kana, but I don't think it's too hard. It's the Kanji that will be a real bitch to learn. I haven't tried.
