I hear this everywhere I go in NYC. My friends will tell me, if you attractive, confident, out-going and willing to cooperate and learn then there you go, you will get the job. They say those who are physically attractive will work behind the cashier and take your order in order to grab the customer attention. Those who are physically attractive attracts more customer in the daily basis then those who aren't(not saying there's ugly people, society makes it that way) These people can get a job at Macy's, Dunkin' Donut, MCDonald's, Foot Locker, and etc. What is your opinion towards this?

Do you agree with this?

Um, a bright smile and a sexy shape can appeal to a mans sense of image if he is say at a clothing store, and some slender pretty thing is assisting him telling him the pants look nice and that shirt matches so well. the guy could be swooned and distracted thinking the girl has genuine interest when shes only boosting the sale. (it happened to me paid 75 bucks for jeans, yeah that'll never happen again)
but the point is it did happen, and its kinda common.

Does it make a difference i the restaraunt world? maybe.
i dont really want 3 fingers lary makin my po-boy sandwich
lookin all grimy and snaggletooth.
but surely sweet inoscent 2nd year student Lei can take my order.

I guess my point is, yeah pretty people are put up front for appearance
the rougher ones go in the back doin the grunt work
ask this, do they pay you extra for that kool-aid smile... the should

It's true. If we lived in a perfect world people would only be hired based on qualifications. But, we don't live in a perfect world.

100% true.

I own a company and I'm not afraid to say I would hire an attractive person over an unattractive person with better skills if they were working with customers all day.

If we lived ina perfect world men wouldent be caged like animals at a zoo :p

The num 1 thing most employers look for is trustworthyness, so I would say trustworthy face over a pretty one for good employers.

As much as I hate to admit, yes. A person's image and appearance says a lot in the workplace. That shouldn't compromise work skills and ethic, though.

True. The people you hire equals the image of your company. Looks is a plus (or pluses), and the more pluses you get, the more likely you will get a job.

Yeah it happens. SirTwist summed up what I was planning to say. It's sad that this happens though.

Maybe and it happens? No, ofcourse physically attractice people are more likely to get the job because usually with being physically attractive comes better communication and confidence which are both very important on pretty much every job.

In the land of video games, television, and comic books, attractive people are the only people who ever accomplished anything.

It should be normal for people to think that ugly people can't get stuff done as well.
