Seriously people, what the heck? Nowadays, I see people talking about having sex with their bf/gf or not even with their gf/bf with random friends or people, like it's nothing. Sex is supposed to be special, and you are only supposed to give your virginity to your husband or wife. And don't give me that BS about moral relativism. No offense, but I think that society has become too liberal. I mean, sex is glamorized in the media which gives the wrong message to children. Deep down in your heart, do you honestly think a twelve year old girl having sex is okay? It's getting ridiculous. Anyone else agree with me? The media is like encouraging children and teens to be promiscuous. It's nasty.

Girls saying that their role model is Beyonce or Lady Gaga...Like stfu!Shoot.. My only role model and idol will forever be Jesus Christ! He keeps it too Real and when he keeps it too real people tend to just hate!

Maybe it shouldn't be glamorized, but I don't think you have to wait until marriage.

People say they wait for marriage because they want the right person. That's only your safest bet. There's no guarantee. I think as long as you don't sleep around without protection, you're okay.

It's not like all those people are gonna rape you or something.

its completely stupid. i haven't even had my first kiss. Lady Gaga as a role model?! okay, i like some of her songs, but her being a role model is retarded. i think of Chris Drew as a role model. yeah, he's a guy. whatever. he never sings about sex, and when he sings about love he sounds so honest.
i would wait till engagement or something.

Too stereotypical. You whine about that shit as if everyone worships Lady Gaga except you and your co-nuns.
You ought to consider that not everyone thinks the way you do.
Not everyone is raised with the same religion or w/e beliefs.
The 12-year-old sluts will fuck as they damn please and you still can't do anything about it, because it's their life, not yours.

Right and wrong is viewed differently in the eyes of another. I actually agree with you. The media does glamorize sex and I do believe children are influenced by it, but to put it bluntly what can you do? Not everyone goes by the same belief system as you do.

Take it from someone who tried to have a discussion on religion with the thread starter. (Not knowing she doesn't bother with logic.) Actually did it over guestbook, so you can see what a rational guy like myself was up against with this particular bible thumper. I wont even point it out, as it's right there in guestbook convo. Everyone is welcome to draw their own conclusion.
Don't try reason, wont work. Don't bother with facts, she will just start quoting scripture as a response. All you'll get is nonsense hidden by a very very thin veil of pretend intellectualism.

You forget, not everyone has people to guide them onto a moralized life. I am 25 years old. I am not a old wise man or anything, but I have seen my share of crap.

See, morals are all based on perspective, and they are fallible. If you want to know what I think is poisoning, is blindly following a religion and letting that dictate your life. But, that isn't my point, that is my perspective. See, morals are a lifestyle, something that parents teach you. The demoralization is partially to blame on the parenting. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that society in it's whole is all that great and even the teen dramas I watch with my 15 year old sister all talk about sex and the crap that follows it. Glamorized? Maybe. Common enough that it does not REALLY affect your own decisions? Hell no. It is all personal choice. I was told by my father when I was 12, if you put crap in your head, you will get crap out.

See, not everyone thinks there is even a God. But, I respect your choice enough to capitalize his name. That life is just not for me.

The choice to get married is even heavier than the choice to have sex. How the heck am I supposed to make that choice so young? And we wonder why 43% of all marriages end in divorce! It is close minded thinking like waiting until marriage. What if you get married and the sex just sucks?

As for when I chose to have sex, I live life to the fullest by enjoying the things I have day to day. The day I lost my virginity was just me enjoying what is coming my way. Did I have a conscious decision to make when I did it? Yes. Was I demoralized in my choice? I never thought so, because I loved her at 16 years old. Honestly, the first time is awkward. Hence the term, "That was as sloppy as two virgins f******"

I personally think accepting the differences in other peoples choices is the best way to cope with it. If you want to wait until marriage and for a true love, that is great. My best friends in high school did that and they are happy. I wish you luck in your pursuit of happiness Ms. Popcornpuffs.

Ummm. since when is sex special? I like how people think before the advent of TV no one ever had sex before marriage. If sex didn't feel good no one would have it unless they wanted a kid; too bad it feels great (or at least should). You compare the nebulous reward of heaven compared to the instant reward of orgasm and 90% of the time orgasm will win. Not saying that's good or bad, just saying that sex happens and it's not all that special, it's just a thing.

The trick, Cecil, is to not kiss and tell. You were probably a true gentleman for it like myself, right?

Sex is sex. Some feel it's sacred, others don't.
If you wanna wait, wait. But it's stupid when people feel they HAVE to wait, or else they're bad people.
And it's also just as stupid when people think they HAVE to lose it as fast as possible.

It happens when it happens, just do it when you personally feel it's right and it'll always feel 'special'.
Just make sure you're both legal. Under 16's and it's gross.

And don't bitch and moan about it, different parts of the world treat sex differently.

I'd like to point out that while popcornpuffs is taking a decidedly religious approach in expressing her opinion, the idea of virginity before marriage is not just a Christian thing. It exists in the traditional mores of cultures all over the world. How many times have you watched an anime where a girl exclaims "now I'll never be able to get married!" because she's done something or had something done to her that she thinks compromises her purity?

The idealism of monogamy and pre-marital chastity seems to be pretty universal. If you think about it, there are many practical advantages to society when people choose one mate and stick with them... STD's don't have much of a chance to spread, children would usually grow up with two parents, and young people wouldn't have their lives derailed by a sudden pregnancy or the trauma of an abortion or adoption process. Technology has provided us with many ways to mitigate the risks and consequences of a sexually free lifestyle, but none of them are foolproof, and if you take a quick look at our society, there certainly seem to be a lot of fools.

It's always been fashionable to sneer at tradition, but often traditions are the results of hard lessons learned by our forebears.

Don't be a hypocrite;
If you want to apply the doings of the good book, then you must apply it's teachings properly.
Only god shall pass judgement, is it not?
Did jesus not save the whore from stoning to death all the same?
I certainly relate to an unwholesome surroundings putting pressure on you as an individual, but if christianity is your base, don't forsake that base to put yourself above others. Equality and acceptance above all.
