I've just finished the filling episodes, but suddenly it jumps over 100 episodes ahead. Is there a reason for this?
and can the last episodes be found here on CR?

They will be coming with time.

From the top: "We will add Episodes 110-265 in the near future."

Well, I understand the frustration a bit.

I will say this, if this current pace keeps up it really will be cheaper to cancel my account and buy the DVD's, and then maybe come back in a few months for the new episodes. Or maybe not, since the new ones are free with ads after a week.

One old episode a week means a couple years just to catch up, and that ain't gonna cut it for long. Especially for people that want to see all the old episodes before they watch the new ones.

As with Naruto, I am willing to pay to watch the new epidoes the week they are released. But I'm not willing to pay to get one old episode a week while trying to catch up to the content I'm supposed to be paying for in the first place.

I agree too. And furthermore, I just don't understand why. Why is it that the old episodes are only released once per week? Who benefits from that? As far as I have been able to find out, it seems that it isn't CR, but Viz Media or TV Tokyo or whoever, that has decided only to release them once per week. But why can't they just release them all at once?

It will take them 118 weeks to catch up at this rate. I don't see why they are doing it so slow, as they managed to do Naruto: Shippuden at 8 episodes per week and that was also subbed by Viz. Perhaps Viz is trying to keep the subs behind the US TV airing for as long as possible.

At this rate episode 265 wont be up for another 2.5 years. I don't call 2.5 years the "near future".

At first I thought it was because of their DVD sales--it would make some sense that they didn't want to hurt this revenue by having to compete with the streaming sites, not just Crunchyroll but Hulu too.

However, I think they are releasing these old episodes about a month or so ahead of the DVDs, so that couldn't be it. But, I just had a thought... it could very well be because of the DVD production. Since they are releasing DVDs about one per month or so (which is about one episode per week), they probably have allocated enough resources to produce episodes at about that rate. No need to spend the time and effort to do it more quickly. So, what we are seeing is just the churn rate that they have set up for this. Given that we're a month or so ahead makes sense too. I imagine that is about the lead time it takes to get a DVD pressing done.

If this is the case, I wouldn't expect Viz to start producing them any faster.

That could very well be the reason, Zhiroc. I guess one cannot blame them for not wanting online streaming to ruin their DVD-sales, but that poses another question: Why does it say "We will add Episodes 110-265 in the near future" at the top of this page? My immediate assumption is that CR does not expect it to last over 2 years (one episode per week, lacking episodes exceeding 100) to catch up to the new episodes. Or else my understanding of near future differs somewhat from theirs.

I do not question the fact that CR is probably doing everything they can to get these lacking episodes, but It really would be helpful to get some more information about where they currently stand at achieving this goal.

If any of that speculation is really the case, they could at least give us a schedule. Something more than "soon."

It's really not too much to ask.

What makes all this worse for me is that I was in Hong Kong a few weeks ago and saw every episode up to the latest arc in a DVD set for under $100US. Subbed in English no less, and completely legit (being sold in a Sony retail store).

But no, I had to think, "Eh, I'll support the American distributors. Surely if they have them subbed for the Hong Kong market already, they will be out in the US soon too."

That's what I get for thinking. My brother will be coming home from Taiwan this Christmas. I think I know what I'm asking for.

In the vernacular of the Internet, "soon(TM)" means "when we're damned good and ready"
