What are some of the best games for their genre

I was also going to say Prince of Persia. I believe it is one of the all time best games I've ever played. And I mean that for each of them 1-3, all of them were fantastic.

Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition. I dare anyone to say this game sucked. If you do, prepare to 'dissapear'.

DMC3, god of war, metal gear solid snake eater, star wars battlefront 2, World of Warcraft, guild wars, morowind

(other than listed titles of course) SotC, Katamari Damacy, FFVII, and Kingdom Hearts are all pretty fitting in the "best games ever" catagory

I will go out and say that you can't say what the best video game is because its a video game and their are so many genres as well. Graphics are part of rating games. Some games may have been good for their time, but most of the time recent games can be considered better. Of course, I'm not counting the suck ass recent games. I mean its obvious that something like Ace Combat 5 is better than X-Wing and Tie-fighter because technology was limited. If we were to compare which is the best of the recent games then there is a number of other things to say like FPS make people dizzy and usually lack substance in the plot so they can't be the best games ever. RPGs usually are turn based and really slow and boring at times, so they can't be the best game ever. I like platformers, but the fighting gets really repetitive and you would sometimes just want to avoid other guys. As franchises go though, I would have to say that Legend of Zelda would be the best because its always been able to make the game fun and make it different from the last. Stealth games have their own appeal if you like avoiding fights. I prefer the MGS series over SC because the boss battles. Changing the controller slot was crazy and even crazier on the gamecube. Of course, it was annoying with a wavebird controller.

ive always liked Perfect Dark-incredible game one of the best fps ive ever played and the 2nd let me down
final fantasy is pretty much always good and so was kingdom hearts, so i say square enix is good period
then there is halo, ace combat (all good), armored core, zeldas, CoD,there is simply too many to name =P

Racing: Wipeout (PS1) - Carmageddon (PC)
RPG: Final Fantasy 8 (PC)

I also loved GTA3 on PC.

Duke Nukem?! Now Doom feels lonely. Also Team Fortress should be mentioned here.

I'd like to also mention DDR because apparently it's made people lose weight. That is an accomplishment for a video game.

Why is nobody referring to Devil May Cry 3 as one of the best games of all time? That game was freakin' mind blowin'!!!
