Do you think losing your virginity defines your social status?

If someone makes fun of you because you are a virgin. I would tell them to grow up and get a life. I had sex a long time ago when I was 17 and guess what. It hasn't changed me at all. I say do whatever is right and lose it for the right reasons and not the wrong ones. You might just regret it later.

How childish.

Anyway; to be honest, in my school, if you're a virgin, people don't respect that fact at all. I'm still one, but only because that's what I want. I don't really feel pressured to, either; doing something because everyone else is is just stupid. I'll lose mine when I'm ready to, and to a person I really love.
/end rant

Yeah, so, in a nutshell; if you're one here, and people know it, it's not the most fun thing in the world.

Even though I've grown up in a pretty open minded country I was raised with walues that you should wait until marriage. Most girls (doesn't really apply for guys) are viewed as trash and indecent if they've had sex before marriage in our culture. But that's not why I've chosen to remain "pure" (call it whatever you want) but because I believe it to be a special experience that shouldn't be belittled. I've known people who were desperate to lose their virginity in elementary school (14-16) which is too sad...

In my area, hell, if you don't get laid before you're of age, wth is wrong with you. More than once or having a dirty mind is bonus points. But meh, I don't think so. I don't care if that's the way it is, because hell no I'm not about to just jump into something I'll regret later, fts.

and if you think about it .. how the girl can give the right for any strange man through any relationship to lose her virginity
which may this relationship wont last for minutes
But when the perfect man or the husband it would be a honor for him because she left all the men in the world to give him this honor.

I feel bad for women that treat it like the most special thing in the world to give to a man and turn out to have slept with a jerk in retrospect.
Sure, some guys might think it's special, but I've heard some of them rant about how messy, filthy and awkward the whole experience is, kind of sad that they'd expect someone to be a pornstar right off the bat, right?
Well, what's worse is those little princesses that take great care of themselves to that point and stick with the man cause he was the first.
In the end, most men just treat scoring your virginity like a trophy and hardly even appreciate the gesture.
I've seen too much beautiful women turn fat and careless because of the trauma of saving it for mr right.

Perhaps practice does make perfect, even if it's only to protect your own emotions in the long run............

In Sweden it's definitely a must for the "tough" boys, and a must for the sluttish girls, but the rest of the food chain doesn't seem to find it mandatory.

I agree that it does imply that you don't "have a life", but honestly I don't plan on losing it over social pressure or silly norms.

Well it can't define who you are. In the US, sex is a very popular topic. Just do what you feel is right and you won't have issues.

Still a virgin
Do I care? No.
Why? Because my hobbies are playing video games and watching anime, like hell I'm stepping into some nasty ass smoke filled club to look for something I don't care about.

...sorry but some of the comments about "pure virgins" are making me laugh. I've known plenty of slutty virgins, in other words they do everything just short of actual sex. Just because you're a virgin doesn't make you innocent.

But yeah, it doesn't matter in the US mainly because it's nobody else's business what you do. Though in the more religious countries you could run into problems.

I think it all depends on your social click and your gender, obviously there's a double standard, but really i don't think it does, i waited tell i was 18 so i could deal with any consequences that might arise from said actions, its all about what you feel and the people you chose to surround your self with, just dont do it cause your presured into it, wait if you want.
