It's year 2010.
We've heard people,we've seen protests,we've known laws, which assure us,that stereotypes considering men or women no longer exist.

But is that really true?
Do you believe in any stereotypes?
Have you ever been a victim of stereotypes?

I'm not here to judge.Just doing a research. It would be nice if I could get percentages.

Hmm...speaking of stereotypes, did you see the ads on mtv2 about the Lingerie bowl? Full contact woman's football.

They really look tough on the commercials. Like not steroids tough, but strong natural women tough.

I think stereotypes were created for a reason. It doesn't mean that they're true for all people. I think it just means that it's true for as many people as it needs to be OR enough people that stick out so that people assume it's true for everyone.

My mom drives better than my dad.
My dad can cook when he's not being lazy.
My mom hates going shopping (as do I.)
As far as I know, my dad is not a sex pig. I know a lot of women want him and he's turned several down.

As long as there are differences between people, even if the only difference is gender - there will always be stereotypes, predjudice, hate, preconceptions, etc;.

I agree with this also..people need some way of understand/summing up what's around them. =\

The only reason I believe stereotypes exsist is due to lack of understanding of a specific gender or race. No matter how much technology advances or the year, humans will continue in their ways and as long as we're here there will always be prejudice.

Picking out what is different in a group is a 'skill' taught to all of us at a very early age, whether you realize it or not. That isn't to say that we wouldn't profile eachother if that hadn't been the case - it is human nature to notice differences and make assumtions based on observations about people.

I can't count how many times I have kept myself out of harms way simply because I am able to do so.

Making judgements and assumtions about people is fine, if you keep it in your own damned head and dont let it influence your behaviour in ways like... I dunno, screaming slurs out at people, or some other such nonsense.

I hate how 'profiling' is a dirty word.

rant rant rant

pretty much this kinda like the stereotype that all old people are useless and smell ect, some times stereotypes make for funny jokes but you have to be careful what jokes that you do make.

"Women drivers" is the worst stereotype ever.

My car is immaculate and I've never crashed once *touch wood* and my Bro was like "omg women drivers" in the car with me. I ranted saying "Um excuse me? Look how perfect my car is right now, I drive safely and correctly, there is nothing wrong with that!"

Plus I've driven a very, very powerful car, Subaru Impreza STI WRX and survived. > - < stick that up your pipe and smoke it!

Some of the stereotypes are completely fabricated, and some of them are rooted in the natural difference in aptitude between women and men in various types of activity, and certain personality traits that have more commonality within each gender.

In the eyes of the law men and women are (and should be) equal and equivalent in all things, in all ways. But that's not really true. Fairness and truth aren't always the same thing.

pppshhhttt ya right, women belong in the kitchen. They should not be able to do what men do. It's pathetic really.
