Hang Seng Index gains 0.1pc at close

Hong Kong shares edged up to a one-month high despite a recent rally running out of steam and a weak mainland market.

The Hang Seng Index ended up 0.14 percent at 21,725.64 points after pulling back from resistance at last month's high around 21,800.

Turnover was HK$65.55 billion.
