The group consists of Inati (leader), Dari (rapper), Day Day (rapper), Jisu (main vocalist), Young Won (vocalist) and Drama (lead vocalist). Dalmatian released a 30-second teaser of their "Round 1" music video on August 25 and released the full digital single a few days after on September 1 and officially debuted on September 2 on Mnet's music program M!Countdown. The leader, Inati, is said to be a model and has modeled for big names such as SK Sky, McDonalds, and LG070. He was also a member of People Crew with MC Mong. Members Dari and Jisu have both been featured in MC Mong albums and concerts. Dari was featured in MC Mong's fourth and fifth album as well as his 2009 concert "Variety Mind" along with member Jisu. Day Day has had previous experience being a rap trainer in JYP Entertainment as well as other companies. Wonder Girls' Hye Rim even tweeted about Dalmatian's Day Day saying "WOW! My rap teacher (Day Day) for "lip gloss" debuted [.....] Dalmatian!! Congratulations......" Netizens also uncovered Drama's UCC past revealing pre debut videos he had made with BEAST's Yo Seob called "How To Seduce Mr. Daniel." Pre-debut scandals Before their debut, MacroShore, a fellow entertainment company, let it be known that they had filed a lawsuit against Monkey Funch Entertainment. One of its trainees, and present Dalmatian member, Lee Dong Rim (Yeong Won), had signed under Monkey Funch Entertainment while his contract with MacroShore was still valid. The purpose of said lawsuit was to stop all Dalmatian activities before they began and the group's album sales and public broadcast of their music video. Despite these lawsuits however, Dalmatian continued with all debut plans with member Yeong Won. Debut The group Dalmatian was mentioned in late December of 2009, however nothing else was heard until Dalmatian released their digital single, "Round 1", on music portal sites on September 1. On September 2, they made their official debut on Mnet's M!Countdown performing their single. Round 1 MV and Teaser Dalmatian dropped their first music video teaser on August 25, through Mnet and other online portal sites. A Monkey Funch representative stated, "The footprints left by the male in the teaser represent Dalmatian's footprints. It means that Dalmatian will enter the music world and leave their mark." The music video was directed by Joo Soo Hyun, who has worked with idol groups such as Girls' Generation, SHINee, and singer Seo In-Young. Kim Do Hoon and MC Mong composed the lyrics for "Round 1". After debuting with their single "Round 1", the six members plan to release the album around Valentine's Day (February 14th). Their agency, IS Entertainment, revealed that the members have already finished the song recordings and are currently filming for the music video. Dari’s agency, Enter Media Group, announced to the press that he started his basic training on April 25th for his mandatory [two-year] military service. The boy band member will begin his duties as a public service worker four weeks after his basic training.

According to Dalmatian member Youngwon via a post on Dalmatian’s official cafe, it seems the group will make their return in October. Here’s an excerpt of his post: Oh Yeah! He tweeted, “It is planned that Dalmatian will be making its comeback in March. They will start their deadly recording next week.” As the group lost one of its member, Dari, to military obligations, the 5-member group will be making a comeback in almost an year as they had promoted “The Man Opposed” last April. As Jang Geun Yi is a veteran producer, working with popular stars like Miryo and MBLAQ, Dalmatian is expected to make a hot comeback.
