My only comment on the video is about "illegal" downloading they stated that you can be arrested for it and that is WRONG.

It is of course true in Japan that someone can be arrested simply for downloading and storing files, since copyright infringement is a criminal offense in Japan, and also true that most other countries do not have their copyright law set up like that.

But the whole clip with the way that voice actresses finding illegal downloads to be kowai (scary!) is itself too kawaii (cute/sweet) for me to quibble with how accurate it is in how many of the countries that are in the streaming region for their show.

Cool! I'm really looking forward for the second season of Letter Bee

Oh, I agree. That is the main one I am looking for out of this slate of seven, thought I may give PSwG, Squid Girl and the OG mecha show a try for from one to three episodes.

I'd also like to have a look at Star Driver, Pyschic Detective Yakumo, and Bakuman, so I hope none of those end up on TAN.

I'll watch Bakuman too. I read the manga every week, I've confidence in the plot, but not in how will they animate it. Anyway, I'll watch a couple of episodes, or maybe until I get tired of it

I should have mentioned that that is for the USA it might be different in other countries.

I would also say that I am sorry that the US and the Media industry are blindly pushing for things like the ACTA to be used in other countries with out regard to the consequences at hand due to the differences in the legal systems. I'm not going to post a link to any articles on the subject but if you want to find out more about this go to techdirt.com and search ACTA and Russia.

Hey guys,

You probably already heard about the announcement of some of our new Fall 2010 titles. We plan to have more announcements coming out so keep an eye out for them.

Today, we just announced the second season of Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee, The World God Only Knows, Squid Girl, the second season of Sora No Otoshimono Forte, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Fortune Arterial, and Super Robot Wars OG.

Here's an official announcement from the voice actors of Sora No Otoshimono Forte.

Stay tuned for more and let us know which ones you are looking forward to!

You mean anime you could watch illegally for free on other sites?

As they said, "We plan to have more announcements coming out so keep an eye out for them." The remaining titles CR might get to do not start airing for over a week. Traditionally, CR has not announced until just before the simulcasts begin, so I expect the remaining announcements will follow that pattern.

I do not expect any further announcements from CR until October.

yes i do mean anime you can watch illegally from other sites, funny thing is millions of other users do this and never get arrested or in trouble. which is why Crunchyroll needs to start getting some more big name animes on this site.

In the U.S., not only will you not get arrested, you will not get sued, either. While I expect someone will want to jump forward and cite some example, they should look closer at the case before they do. I have yet to see anyone in the U.S. sued for only downloading copyrighted material. Every suit I have seen was because they person used a P2P network, which meant they were also making it available to others.

So yes, you can currently watch streaming fansubs day in and day out in the U.S., and never worry about a a lawsuit, much less being arrested.

Frankly, I don't see how getting "more big name animes" would keep people from watching fansubs. It isn't as if people are not going to pirate those anime as well, and in some cases, they just pirate it from CR.

People that are moral will pay for content if it is made available at a reasonable price. Some people will always find an excuse not to pay, even if that payment is in the form of watching commercials.

by saying this you are calling millions of anime fans Immoral, stop riding your high horse and learn that not everybody has money to throw away watching anime you can get for free. the only reason I pay for this is because it offers great quality streams with zero chance of attaining a virus. none the less I expect crunchyroll to get new anime. there is nothing wrong with demanding more. it keeps CR on its toes and gives us good anime. GG sir

Did you miss this part?:

"..., even if that payment is in the form of watching commercials."

Of course, if you hadn't ignored that, your "...not everybody has money to throw away watching anime you can get for free" argument would have rang hollow.

Even disregarding that, we are talking $7 a month (assuming one is so strapped they can't gather enough for the quarterly or annual plan).

If one is watching something that gives nothing back to people or companies responsible for making it a reality, when a method exists that costs them little (paid), or nothing but a bit of extra time (free with commercials), that does give something back, then darned right I am calling them immoral.
