Hey all. This is a new thread exclusive for the WWE PPV's. Basically it's a preview of the upcoming card and also a predictions thread that people can post what they think will happen.

Onto our first PPV Night of Champions

MAIN EVENT: Sheamus (c) vs. Wade Barrett vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Chris Jericho Six-Pack Elimination Challenge for the WWE Championship

-The elimination stipulation has made the possibilities of a title change a fair chance. Coming in Randy Orton seems to be the favourite yet I feel we're in for a surprise. To me it comes down to Orton and perhaps Wade Barrett if the NEXUS angle is to be continued. Also will the Miz cash in, who knows?

Prediction-Orton

Team LayCool (Michelle McCool alone with Layla staying backstage) (Women's Champ) vs. Melina (Divas Champ) Title Unification Lumberjill Match for the WWE Women's Championship and the WWE Divas Championship

The main question after Smackdown was is team laycool breaking up. Either way it seems we have two options: McCool wins and her and Layla feud over the title, or Melina wins and they feud without the title being involved.

Prediction-McCool wins to set up the feud

Kane (c) vs. The Undertaker Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship in a No-Holds Barred Match

-Here we go another of the Taker/Kane battles. The no holds barred stip makes things interesting especially with the future stipulation themed PPV's to come in the following months like Hell in a Cell in 2 weeks time.

Prediction-Kane to retain for now

The Miz (c) vs. Daniel Bryan Singles match for the WWE United States Championship

-This has been in the making since NXT season 1. Miz has gotten better as a heel but with him holding the MITB briefcase it's perhaps best he drops the belt now as I expect him to cash in soon. Besides Bryan has looked strong but this would help lift his stock in the WWE.

Prediction-Daniel Bryan new champ

The Big Show vs. CM Punk Singles match

-As i mentioned covering Summerslam we were building to this eventually. Punk sadly has been lost in the shuffle and with the SES more or less done a win here would be a shock. However I'm banking on a shock to occur as sometimes the WWE does them.

Prediction-CM Punk wins

Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Kofi Kingston Singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship where if Ziggler gets counted-out or disqualified, he will lose the title.

-On first glance the match seems primed for Kofi to get his title back. However I can't see it as if the heel is hindered by a match stip 9 times out 10 they win so I see Dolph retaining.

Prediction -Dolph Ziggler retains.

Thats all for now though note a tag team title match has not been confirmed if it is will return and cover as details come to hand.

Enjoy the PPV everyone.

Good stuff andy1!

Since I got a few things on the go right now here are my quick picks for this PPV, which should be intriguing to see how it does head to head with the NFL countering on free TV with the Manning Bowl of the Indianapolis Colts at the NY Giants.

Tag Titles Match- I think since this is so rushed with still no opponent yet announced but a match guranteed on the PPV stated on Smackdown, I think the Hart Dynasty win a quick fight against whomever they put against them, whether it be Drew/Rhodes from Smackdown, Truth/Morrison from RAW, some random Nexus pairing, Goldust is also rumoured to be on the PPV as he posted it online, or even free agents like the Dudley Boyz who could come in last minute. Harts win a likely short PPV opening match.

Punk/Show Grudge Match - I hate this burial of SES, but somehow the PPV being in Chicago might NOT help Punk being that the hometown jinx is always a WWE favorite to just make fun of their fans...so taking Show to squash Punk 1 more time after so many handicap matches where he did the same...

IC Title Match - This feud has gone on too long with even steven booking of each winning back and forth. Hopefully this is the blowoff match for this feud as well, with Dolph retaining via submission but somehow despite the rules with some help from Vickie.

Women's/Diva's Title Unification Match - Again don't really care anymore for the women of the WWE right now, so I'll flip a coin. Melina wins and the split of Lay-Cool I guess begins.

US Title Match - The only match anyone should care about with how this feud since NXT season 1 started has been interesting and in some ways helpful for both men. The Miz as noted has MITB to cash in and doesn't need the US Belt too, while Danielson can easily bring that belt in due time back to respectability. Bryan wins via his Lebell Lock to become the new champ.

Smackdown's World Title Match - Again this feud of 15 years continues, though least the whole power swap story adds a little bit of new intrigue. That said hopefully it's short in ring as both are very old now. Kane retains since they need a main event for the HIAC PPV in 2 weeks time.

RAW's WWE Title Match - The elimination factor really changed my pick. I was going to choose Wade Barrett in a 1 pin scenario but now with the need to eliminate 5 of the 6 competitors I think he's a long shot. Edge has a movie coming up so I doubt he wins, ditto Randy Orton even if he's red hot, as he has his own movie to do soon for WWE Films and doesn't need that belt to stay hot with the fangirls, casual and hardcore fans alike. Cena's won it too many times to count and bores everyone who is not a fangirl. This leaves Jericho but his contract status is so up in the air it's a hard call. I'm going with Sheamus thus to retain and brag about it leading to...

...possibly a Miz cash in, but I think it can wait a bit longer until a face has it...like HHH whom I see making his "grand" return at the end to avenge the injuries Sheamus inflicted on him to cause his "leave", leading to the HIAC PPV title match since Taker and HHH are the 2 guys in the most HIAC matches to date.

If any news does come up before, during or after the PPV give the BEHIND THE SCENES thread a check!

i only have one prediction, and this is a prediction i made almost 3weeks ago in the other prediction thread...

i made that prediction before i found out that the Miz's opponent was gonna be Bryan! and now after reading the above 2 predictions and seeing they are in agreement, i feel even better about it coming true!

altho i kinda wanna change the part about him cashing in his MITB and becoming the new champ... but nah...
all bets are final...

in the end tho, it might be sad to see these 2 superstars get a push. cuz seeing how all the pushes have been as of late, i dont wanna see them end up like Swagger (who i think should STILL be in the title picture... but WWE f#cked it all up). lets just hope they dont get shoved back down the ladder before they get a chance to bask in the glory...

for some reason, The Miz is my kids fav wrestler, so she dont want him to lose. but im rooting for him to DROP that US Title so he can move up to better things... GO MIZ!

Oh daring so good luck on that early bird pick for this PPV. And as some note, that MITB can come into play since Taker/Kane will be in a No Holds Barred match, and even more of a chance he could cash in after a 6 Pack ELIMINATION match where someone has to survive 5 other eliminations to win the belt.

And yeah we ALL fear the type of pushes of late from the WWE where they get so scared that if they don't get an Orton instant reaction they turn them into...well Swagger as you noted. Facing MVP in a comedy midcard match seems to be the burial place of MANY pushes, the heavily growing midcard, and PPVs in particular need badly right now new top end stars to stand a chance especially up against the NFL and UFC over a 5 plus week span with 3 PPVs coming starting tonight with NOC.

Enjoy the PPV, and an aside type of pick good luck with your Raiders as I got them picked to win vs. St. Louis, and I'd really appreciate that to least keep my San Fran 49ers out of the basement alone, eh heh heh...

Hell in a Cell (HIAC) PPV Preview

For my picks in the end go to the Vyrus Predictions section for this time.

Unified Diva's Title Match: Natalya vs LayCool ©
It looks like McCool will get the job again but this could change by the PPV. Natalya won the Battle Royale to get the shot as it looks like Melina's going down the card being the 1st out of it. There's a darn good chance the winner of this match faces a returning Beth Phoenix as she's about ready to return.

John Cena vs Wade Barrett
If Cena wins, Nexus disbands. If Barrett wins, Cena joins Nexus. If Nexus interfere, Cena wins.
This might be the most important match of the card to tell the direction of RAW. Cena winning easily means the Nexus experiment is over, with most of them "future endeavoured". But if there's still hope to make new stars and try to salvage Nexus, Cena's loss could mean a lot more for that faction, and also his own career as the fan split has not helped him and even if Cena's a babyface merchandise draw, PPV and TV numbers continue to plummet with little change in the WWE horizon unless something's done to again shake things up, like possibly how this match ends...

US Title Match: Daniel Bryan © vs The Miz vs John Morrison
Triple Threat Match-Submissions Count Anywhere
We saw this in the form of last year's DX vs Legacy match...which led to a non-push so let's hope for better here. It is odd to add Morrison with so little build and so many stips to a PPV which already has a themed stipulation times two. This feud was the hottest on the last PPV and looks to possibly conclude here so Miz can focus on his Money in the Bank briefcase title shot and Bryan can maybe work with Morrison or someone else on the card.

HIAC Match #1 for the RAW WWE Title: Randy Orton © vs Sheamus
This was an ongoing feud re-ignited with Orton as champ as he's the hot commodity with the rocket on his back. Sheamus might be heading to a reunion with HHH returning so a title might be involved or not. Orton if he retains is likely destined to face the Miz when he tries to cash in his title shot either at this PPV or later on in the calendar.

HIAC Match #2 and likely Main Event for the Smackdown World Heavyweight Title: Kane © vs The Undertaker
Yep 15 plus years to come full circle in the story (continuity people!) with Paul Bearer back too as the father to the two brothers of destruction but on the Undertaker's side with the urn recharging the Deadman. There's a chance now Taker wins, but also a good shot Kane retains and this feud continues to appease Sy Fy who gets Smackdown on the new move.

Enjoy the PPV folks if you're catching it, and any news stemming or leading into it will be in the Behind the Scenes thread!

i only got 1 prediction for this weekend's Hell In A Cell, and i already mentioned it in the other prediction thread. but first i wanna say something.

usually at a big fighting event like UFC or boxing, the CHAMPIONSHIP fights are held LAST. at Wrestlemania, the HBK career match was held last, meaning it was the Main Event, which completely overshadowed the Title matches, which to me says that the titles werent worthy of the Main Event. now, i can understand that cuz the Taker streak and HBK career was a BIG deal... but bigger than the WWE and Heavyweight titles? im not so sure. good thing they put out a good match.

now for this PPV, im wondering what the card order will be? Takers in a title match, so will that be held last as the Main Event? Taker WAS the Main Event at Wrestlemania, so shouldnt he be the main event now? Orton vs Sheamus has the WWE title on the line and we all know thats the biggest title here. so will their match be held last? i dont care if they bill it as the RAW Main Event or the Smackdown Main Event... the MAIN Main event is the match held LAST! no ifs, ands, or butts.

theyd just better not insult the fans and hold the no-title, virtually insignificant Cena vs Barrett match as the last Main Event. but i have a feeling they will. if i bought a ticket, and they pulled that bullshit, id walk out of the arena after the last Title match to get to my car early and beat the outgoing traffic while Cena gets his ass beat and joins the Nexus...

lets just hope they put the focus on the TITLE matches this time, since thats wat really matters here, supposedly.

my 1 prediction for this PPV is that Paul Bearer betrays the Undertaker somehow and helps Kane retain the World Heavyweight Championship... hopefully in the Main Event...

Hmm interesting view on that. I even give a pass on the Mania main event last year for the reasons not that a non-world title match should be last or not, but in that rare case due to the retirement stipulation vs the streak being so big, and the fact even HHH himself noted at the speech prior on RAW that HBK put the challenge out that nobody benefitted from going after such a hot feud/match and it's best to let them go last-also in hindsight it gave Shawn the chance to say goodbye uninterrupted by later matches.

But I'm totally on board about a World Title match should be almost always be last. Barring a hot feud like the one mentioned above that is about to reach closure, it's generally best a title match ends a PPV as those programs are what the WWE should be pushing at the top matches and feuds with its top stars of the moment. It's again as you noted why the titles are SO weak right now in people's eyes since the value is nothing if there's no build to them, no stories built around the simple concept of winning them (like take sports-teams who say they're happy to be competetive are plain liars or dummies as it's all about winning a championship, period) and keeping away such bad plot devices like cheesy comedy and swapping it back and forth so often everyone's been a champ.

So yep hope we get one of the 2 belts as the main event, I'd assume with a staple of the HIAC match guy in either Taker or if need be, a returning HHH during the Orton/Sheamus fight.

Here's my two cents worth of predictions for the PPV

Unified Diva's Title Match: Natalya vs LayCool ©
-As much as I'd love Natayla to take the belt away from Laycool sadly I can;t see it happening as I feel things are treading water til the invitable Laycool split .

US Title Match: Daniel Bryan © vs The Miz vs John Morrison
-This could be good dispite the concerns on Miz and Morrison not having specfic submission holds. To me this is where the Bryan/Miz feud concludes but moves us to a Bryan/Morrison feud which can be as good

John Cena vs Wade Barrett
If Cena wins, Nexus disbands. If Barrett wins, Cena joins Nexus. If Nexus interfere, Cena wins
-Like most to me Cena needs to lose this match but the question is can it be done clean.Barrett i feel isn't super over so I'm going out on a limb to say he wins after Kaval or any of season 2 of NXT's rookies interfeare though thats the less happy outcome though could Cena lose cleanly we'll see

HIAC Match #1 for the RAW WWE Title: Randy Orton © vs Sheamus
-This is an intriguing one as Orton should retain here and Sheamus for the time being slips out of the title picture. Also this may be the time the Miz looks to cash in unless the plan is to wait til another stipulaton full PPV occurs

HIAC Match #2 and likely Main Event for the Smackdown World Heavyweight Title: Kane © vs The Undertaker
-9 times outa 10 I'd expect Taker to get the win in his match but this is that 10th time so I see Kane retaining more likely after some help from somewhere.

Anyway thats all from me looking foward to tomorrows PPV.

good call!!! we saw the interference, and as of right now im pretty sure it was Hennig and Rotunda from NXT S02(as i explained in the Discussion thread). but we wont know exactly until RAW tonight. lets just hope the frikkin stupid GM wont overturn that decision and let Cena out of the stipulation cuz of the interference.

and my longshot prediction of a Paul Bearer turn also happened! so for all of u who doubted, including my buddys (yah, u know who u are), i got 2 words for ya!
SUCK IT!!!

OK quick preview of the WWE Bragging Rights PPV as they have it up to the TV tapings (WARNING might contain Smackdown spoilers then) but as always the CARD IS SUBJECT TO WWE CHANGES even during the PPV.

General sources are as normally credited to http://www.f4wonline.com/ and http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/news.html and http://www.thefightnetwork.com/news/wrestling and http://www.411mania.com/wrestling and know that news, preview notes and rumours are subject to updates and changes.

Here is the current lineup for the WWE ‘Bragging Rights' set for October 24th in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Target Center:

*Randy Orton (champ) Vs. Wade Barrett w/ John Cena ringside for the WWE Title
The likely main event with how RAW pushes this storyline. Everyone wants to see Cena take Barrett out once his breaking point reaches which could make for a great match for a PPV hopefully later on. For now it's been about Nexus chasing the champ so Wade can be the champ, though Nexus' David Otunga has been hinting Starscream-like dissension, while Husky Harris and Joe Hennig (I refuse to use the WWE name for him) try to join Nexus but failed so far.

*Kane (champ) w/ Paul Bearer ringside Vs. the Undertaker in a Buried Alive Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title
Does this need a preview? It's the 15 year plus feud that is drawing nothing but boredom and quiet on PPVs. Bearer is not even in full form due to it being PG TV. Kane hates Taker, has the urn and its powers while his father Paul is getting revenge for that cement incident a while ago. And Taker stalks building rooftops until his appearance.

*Team Raw (The Miz as captain & John Morrison & R-Truth & Sheamus & CM Punk & Santino Marella & Ezekiel Jackson) Vs. Team Smackdown (Big Show as captain & Rey Mysterio Jr. & Jack Swagger & Alberto Del Rio & Edge & Tyler Reks & Kofi Kingston) in a tag team ELIMINATION Match (meaning Survivor Series like rules where last team standing wins)
NOTE: Hornswoggle is Smackdown's mascot only, Ricco Rodriguez only announces Alberto, the Flying Eagle is just Jack's mascot, and Alex Riley is just Miz's ringside apprentice.
HOPE now it's clear now who is on each team. The trophy that got refurbished to look like the 1940's Stanley Cup seems meaningless but it's there for "Bragging Rights". No word yet if it's 1 pin to a win so just assume for now it's not elimination style. Ongoing feuds seem to be on Smackdown's side with Edge and Swagger, as well as Alberto and Rey. There also could be changes to the teams even last minute so stay tuned...

*Michelle McCool or Layla (champs) Vs. Natalya for the Diva's Title
It's the Divas, whoopie.
UPDATED: At this time the WWE is leaning to having Layla defend the belt.

*US Champion Daniel Bryan Vs. Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie Guerrero ringside in a non-title match
EVERY pundit and reporter thinks Bryan is buried as a dancing, lady's man nerd. Everyone sees the love triangle of Dolph, Vickie and NXT rookie Kaitlyn being the likelihood of a Dolph face turn. Even if this was made last minute, in ring could be a sleeper match aside the likely horrible announcing from Michael Cole who will bury it while telling off the King Jerry Lawler and Matt Striker since Vince loves heel play by play Cole...

LAST MINUTE ADD:
*Ted Dibiase w/Maryse vs. Goldust w/ Aksana "maybe" for the Million Dollar Title (I kid not the site said this)
As the WWE.com site said it's maybe for the Million Dollar title Goldust took from Ted (or as Cole whines about, stole). There's the whole disbalance between Ted and Maryse while Goldust is Aksana's Pro and soon to be hubby as done in the NXT angles.

Oh and my personal picks:
Orton retains the belt via Cena turning on Wade to set up a Survivor Series match
Kane buries Taker for a break in the feud until Taker returns at the Royal Rumble
Lay-Cool retain the Divas Title
Dolph wins via Vickie-ference over Bryan
Team RAW wins when Miz gets the last pin after Smackdown implodes from its ongoing Jack/Edge and ADR/Rey feuds
Goldust wins to "maybe" retain the Million Dollar Belt from Ted

If you manage to watch the PPV over or along with UFC 121, and/or the NFL Sunday Night Football of Brett Favre returning again to Green Bay with the Minnesota Vikings (which funny is the place the PPV is coming from) I guess enjoy!

Thought I'd put my predictions up now seeing as I'll miss the ppv due to having another commitment this coming weekend being labour day weekend down in my little corner of the world.

*Randy Orton (champ) Vs. Wade Barrett w/ John Cena ringside for the WWE Title

-The Cena factor could decide this match. To me Orton is not yet at the point to drop the title and Barrett is something different in the title picture but I don't think is ready for the belt.I expect an indecisive finsh more likely Cena costing Barrett the belt by getting him DQ'd unless we get a last minute no dq stip added .This feud continues to last at least another two months.

Predicton-Randy Orton retains via DQ

*Kane (champ) w/ Paul Bearer ringside Vs. the Undertaker in a Buried Alive Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title

-Well here we go.Normally i'd back Taker to win considering he's last the last two times but strangely I'm thinking that it would be more interesting for Taker to lose here as if he wins SD is so lite on heels for the main event who would he face post this feud.I'm expecting interference to possibly set the road for taker to mania next year.More than likely I'll be wrong but we'll see.

Prediction-Kane via interference

*Michelle McCool or Layla (champs) Vs. Natalya for the Diva's Title

-All I'll say is please end this Lay cool Madness

Prediction-Natayla via submission

*US Champion Daniel Bryan Vs. Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie Guerrero ringside in a non-title match

-Added late but could be the best match on show. Both need the win so I'll decide via the ol Andy 50-50 decidertron 2010.

Prediction- Daniel Bryan via submission after Vickie and her NXT rookie distract Dolph

*Team Raw (The Miz as captain & John Morrison & R-Truth & Sheamus & CM Punk & Santino Marella & Ezekiel Jackson) Vs. Team Smackdown (Big Show as captain & Rey Mysterio Jr. & Jack Swagger & Alberto Del Rio & Edge & Tyler Reks & Kofi Kingston

-Well SD won the battle Royale, has a stronger looking line up and has been the more watchable show.So of course this means one thing that Team Raw will win seeing they lost last year.

Prediction- Team Raw wins

That's my 2 cents of thoughts and predictions enjoy the PPV folks.

I hope Laycool wins, I'm so used to the female drivel they put up on a weekly basis, I don't think I could stand anyone else being idiotic and filling up that spot;
Then again, if Natalya wins, does this mean Beth Phoenix is coming back? In that case I'd be all for it.

Orton will win, surely this nexus vs cenation thing is going to be dragged out until barret is an established heel.

I'm going with Bryan in the IC vs US title match, but just because I hope so, I wouldn't mind mr Ziggles either.

Team smackdown ftw 2 years in a row.

And Taker for the win on this one. They shifted the power balance on last week's smackdown; maybe tonight will make me eat my words, but I doubt it. The E is quite steadfast in it's directions once taken.

heres my predictions for the upcoming PPV:

for the undercard... im not a huge Tito Ortiz fan. in fact, i frikkin HATE the guy. im not too big a fan of the deaf guy either. but i see this one going all 3 rounds and Matt Hamill winning by decision. hopefully after this loss, Tito grows some balls and faces Liddell one last time before they both hang up the gloves. i think Liddell has one last Ortiz beating left in him, but other than that, i dont wanna see him in the octagon no more since im such a fan of his.

I could care less about Jake Shields. i was rooting for Dan Henderson in the last fight. i hope Shields gets his @ss whooped.

as for the Main Event... former WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez. i got money on Brock to win it in 3. we got a pool going and the 3rd round is mine. i just dont see Cain winning. Brock is lookin excellent in them UFC Primetime episodes. i cant see anybody stoppin him in the near future. i wasnt really a big fan of Brock, but his last fight impressed me skill-wise. im lookin forward to seeing how much hes developed since then, cuz it seems like he gets better every single fight.

Brock in 3!

Making a slight adjust to my 1 pick. Since it's now elimination I'm going with Miz and Big Zeke lasting it out at the end. I just wonder if we'll still get the elimination matches next PPV that actually has that theme in Survivor Series, considering even Buried Alive got moved to this PPV instead of being at the Series too.

OK want to keep the topics on track for this group so as far as UFC, only saying that the former WWE champ and now UFC Champ Brock wins but I got it in 4 rounds so hoping to see good stuff from the PPVs then! Enjoy folks!

hehehe...
last time i checked, this thread said PPV Preview and Predictions - but it didnt specify which PPV. and i did tie it in to WWE...

anyways, UFC 121 was an AWESOME PPV! great fights all up and down the card! couldnt ask for much more than that! other than the frikkin Jake Shields win(i wanted Kampmann to pull it out in the end SO BAD!), that PPV was WELL WORTH watching!

i just hope Bragging Rights does well. they got a TON of competition out there tonight, not to mention how unappealing the PPV stands as it is, so i wouldnt be surprised if it dont do too good. i wonder if WWE is gonna try and pull out all the stops and make this PPV a huge spactacular event, or if they are gonna just hold back a little knowing there wont be much of an audience out there. as of right now, im not planning on seeing it, but who knows... good luck WWE!
