I thought long about a topic that wasnt around and that I thought other people might be able to relate to. Have you ever felt watching dramas affects your life in any way?

For example does it make you kind of hate real life because you wished it was more like the dramas you were watching. Who knows maybe its just me but like I dont know I kind of think life sucks sometimes because I wished it was like some of the dramas I've seen.

At the same time though life sometimes feels like a drama. Like personally I feel I have bad luck and funny bad things tend to happen to me. Add to that love life and friends and I have my very own weird real life drama haha. Does anybody else feel that way?

Though watching dramas is like my way out personally. Like I remember last year I had a lot of problems and watching dramas helped me in the sense that it helped me forget everything thats going on. In some of the dramas I saw I was able to find characters going through the same things and being able to solve them eventually and it gave me some kind of comfort. Some of my friends understand and agree with me that it does help while others dont quite agree with me.

So share your thoughts about this and any personal effects they might have had on you. Enjoy =]

(Checked for duplicate topic and didnt find any. But if it is is please delete it. Thank You)

Dramas are like a CURSE. lol. They make u want things that you might not be able to have. LOVE...MONEY...FAMILY...etc. if only we cud have wat we watch. a lot of my expectations in life changed after watching dramas. wat i expect from love and friendship are all affected by dramas. dramas r definitely better than reality......

this is jus a lil bit of wat i think....if i wrote it all i'd b stuck here all day...hands wud cramp up...n comp wud explode. haha. XD

I think they discussed it somewhere else..Or maybe it's similar..They talked something about whether u wan the characters to come true that kinda of thing..But personally,I feel that dramas are like a show whereby it portrays things that people really want in real life, sometimes ridiculously to the point when unrealistic things happen..
So yeah,I think there's really some sort of impact on people who watched it somehow, unless the storyline or more realistic and might have already happened to some people..

Values of entertainment is fine.. If you see this world that exist today though, isn't it a bit too much? with all the drama series, animes, comics, movies etc? I dunno abt you but, for me, my life seems boring because i expect big things to happen in the exact same format like it happens in movies... But then again lately i've been thinking, and I realize those big events that suppose to happen in my destiny wouldn't unfold anyway.. unless I forget that friggin expectation in the first place.

Bottom line is.. i think it's dangerous.. This over-exposure of literature medias. It can be misleading sometimes. Kids shouldn't be over-exposed to these kind of things

Maybe they discussed something similar but not this. But yea it does give you unrealistic desires. Maybe a girl that wants her boyfriend to be more romantic or a bf who wants his girlfriend to act more cute. Although many times the events are based on things that also do happen in real life and people can relate to.

Yea i completely agree. It does have an effect on your mind and might cause to some people deppresion or unhappiness in their lives.

But in a way I think every person can say there life could be a drama. For some it might be one of those spots dramas because their lives revolve around sports. For some they might have many gfs/bfs and their lives have a lot of romance. I think the problem is that in dramas or movies the things that happen to them are just too smooth. Then it leaves them wishing it happened in another way. Instead of being happy with the little good things that do happen and not just waiting for the big.

So actually I find that it creates a line between virtual and reality..Virtual being what you think(ideal),reality being what is happening in realife,so the effect is actually like thinning this imaginary line and make you think that it might actually happen(when it doesn't or the vice versa)

yea your right. But at the same time i think it also depends on the persons maturity. Some might spend their time dreaming and imagining things happening to them. While the mature ones would be entertained by what they watched, yet know that in real life things work much differently.

Yep,it all depends how the person is like exposed to the reality to be able to differentiate reality from imagination..So,the effect might actually be a positive one instead of a negative one..It all depend on the person watching it..But one must really learn how to seperate this 2..

Well, some dramas can teach you very important things. If you are troubled, you may find the solution in whatever you are watching. The only problem is that some dramas over exaggerate things. Just try to keep things realistic in your own mind.

It depends on the story line.... because there are dramas that are too cheezy and makes it ugly... but if I'm watching a good drama it makes me cry or teary eyed. well maybe that's because I can relate or it's the good stuff.
