I think I'm at around 500-600 kanji right now. I can read and write at a Japanese 2nd grade level, approximately. I've taken the 9th level of the Kanji Kentei aptitude test. Taking the JLPT N3 in December.

I am currently learning kanji as well, its really hard to master.... ;; I think its very beautiful though!

I am Japanese. We have a kanji public memory is less than or equal to 1000.

Update: Today at exactly 11:30 pm .... I learn 3 more just by watching Beelzebub episode 50 and using the JED app on my Android phone
anyway first one is

shoku ー しょく ー 職 - And this mean Job or Employment
in ー　いん　ー　員　- means Member or Employee
shitsu ー　しつ　ー　室 - and this means Room
so when you put them together 職員室　it means Staff Room but what I found strange.. is that..
in the Anime the translator , translated 職員室 into Teacher's Office...

or
sai さい　－　最　meaning extreme
kyou　きょう　－強 meaning strong or a little more than
shi　し　ー　始 meaning to begin
dou　どう　ー　動　meaning change or motion

But when you put it together 最強始動 it translates to "Strongest Starting" according to Google.
Correct translation is probably The strongest one begins first.? lol idk... maybe The Strongest Starts...

I need to stop learning and start writing them soon.
