Well, the situation is unclear. The cops might have misunderstood something, since the house owners DID have guns of their own and were having a shootout with the robbers.

But still, if the dog was in the yard and didn't approach anyone, why shoot it? That makes no sense....

I love animals. I feel sorry for the dog but I hold no grudge against law enforcement. I wasn't there so I won't speculate who's right or wrong.

So the brother fought off two men with guns, unarmed?
Dogs can be dangerous.
The article has only taken quotes from the family, cutting out the cop's story out.
This is biased.

Feel sorry for the dog.

However the whole article is dodgey. I would struggle with one man without a gun. That brother is the hulk in disguise!

The fact that the dog just sat by innocently and did nothing even whilst the owners were being beaten up by the cops. Dunno much bout dogs, but it just seems weird.

If shots were fired, why didn't the neighbours call they police? they however were 'around' when the police were there.

Was it necessary to kill the dog? the article said it was the latest dog killed by the police. What they on a K9 killing spree?

After the incident of that little boy and the balloon thing, I won't be surprised if this was another act.

Where is your source? Where is the link? This makes it hard to believe. The story is kind of bias since it's told only from the family's point of view. I cannot judge the officers without reading all the facts. I'm not defending the police officers or siding with them, but you can't just group all officers together and say they fail. And not all officers are bad. In lots of professions anywhere, there are bound to be bad seeds.

Killing the dog is practically killing a family member...
