Posted 9/27/10 , edited 9/27/10
I saw this documentary called Jesus Camp and I found it quite disturbing Dx, some dont find this to be "brainwashing" and some do *I did 8'S* what are your opinions on this? even though Im not a christian I have nothing against those who are, I was very good friends with alot of them in school, I think its fine to have beliefs as long as ur fair with other people and you dont try to shove them down people's throats or judge them, I dont the way the Jesus camp educates children, they teach that its okay to hate other people with diffrent religions and Athiests, the women preaching mainly preaches to children because children are more gullible then older people are, they dont let these kids be kids, these kids cant have a mind of there own, they encourage Idol worship,...there are so many things I can say why Im against this

please be fair everyone

Oh my god i just saw like two minutes of the first link and i was like WTH?!. I cant even explain how awful that is! And do they realize that harry potter isn't real? God this pisses me off!

this is fucking crazy. i feel so bad for the kids. and she cleans their sins with nestle water and accuses harry potter of being the devil? what the hell?!

When I was 5, a preacher told me I'd burn in Hell if I didn't believe in God. I haven't watched the videos but I imagine it's ten times worse. I mean, why would you say that to a child? You're just threatening them now because they're too young to understand that not everything people say is true. Call it what it is.

Yeah, those people suck ass. But we all fall for it to a certain degree and there are many forms of brainwashing. For instance, a chick brainwashed my anti-social friend into taking her in and turning on his friends, by using ASS. I believe the term is "Pussy-whipped."

Please next time. Do not target this topic towards one single camp which happens to be a Christian brainwasher camp.
The media is brainwashing, the army is brainwashing, Hitler was brainwashing.

It's only considered brainwashing if you fall for it. And kids hear a lot of stuff when they are young, but when they grow up they have a more "worldly" view on things and forget the brainwashing stuff (Which they learned when they were young)
I grew up a Christian, you shouldn't hate, you shouldn't commit sins all this I learned, in Sunday school and from my parents and the church.
It's brainwashing. But when I grew up I got a bigger view of things. And "ignore" most of the stuff they said. I hate people, I commit sins.

You're parents are brainwashing. Remember that.

Well, obviously she's being on the offensive, which isn't educational in my opinion.
I do get where she's coming from, but they could have toned it down for the kids OR given them a similarly harsh perspective in a different view. This is blindsiding to an extent that only parenting can correct.

Harry potter would have indeed been burned at the stake had anyone even remotely written a story resembling his heroics back when the catholics were still in charge. So this is what's left of the extremist religionists.....

Funny thing is the people who made this where happy the way it came out, but yeah its not like they are doing this in public schools and teaching kids to spy on their parents or get mad when they see a construction site, or feel bad cause they think they are killing the planet...oh wait they are teaching that as well

Oh good grief...

Forcing religion on people is just plain wrong.
Posted 9/27/10
Which is why I left my church in the first place. Not to say that church is wrong, I believe most of us need a little prayer now and then, but I didn't agree with their teachings. This "Jesus Camp" reminds me of my old congregation and to be honest, I think it's sad.
