Religion itself has been turned into something it's not. Plain and simple. That's why I haven't attended a church in so many years. It's time they start praticing what they preace. Saying it, and doing it, are two different things.

Which is why I left my church in the first place. Not to say that church is wrong, I believe most of us need a little prayer now and then, but I didn't agree with their teachings. This "Jesus Camp" reminds me of my old congregation and to be honest, I think it's sad.

man some ppl can be so stupid

It's probably because the church knows that the new generation (us) are more independent and don't require a religion. So they decide to force it onto the next generation (kids) to keep it going.

=C I just think they way they teach this is unfair, its okay to have beliefs but I dont think its right to think your better and above people just because of that, Im dating an atheist and he is one of the most fairest people I know when it comes to that stuff, he has religious family members but they were always fair with each other regardless, in 3rd grade to middle school I was best friends with a girl who practiced Witch Craft, even though I didnt agree with it, I looked passed that, we remained very good friends never have we tried to force our veiws on one another,

This is one reason why I became an agnostic deist; the will of man will always corrupt religion.

All forms of brainwashing is bad be it for religion, race or creed. The worst form of malignant brainwashing is instilling hate and ignorance.

wow...thats scary. this is why we have ppl who believe all the bullshit on TV. like for example, "obama is a secret terrorist Muslim" i hate it when ppl force kids to be ignorant. this is why i converted to satanism.

and bottled water isn't gonna change these children either 8C, like you im a very accepting, *im agnostic though* Im just glad this camp was shut down after the documentary was released. no more children have to go through this crap. children shouldn't be thinking stuff like this, they should be out there having fun with there friends trading Pokemon cards and playing hide and seek or something.

Please next time. Do not target this topic towards one single camp which happens to be a Christian brainwasher camp.
The media is brainwashing, the army is brainwashing, Hitler was brainwashing.

It's only considered brainwashing if you fall for it. And kids hear a lot of stuff when they are young, but when they grow up they have a more "worldly" view on things and forget the brainwashing stuff (Which they learned when they were young)
I grew up a Christian, you shouldn't hate, you shouldn't commit sins all this I learned, in Sunday school and from my parents and the church.
It's brainwashing. But when I grew up I got a bigger view of things. And "ignore" most of the stuff they said. I hate people, I commit sins.

You're parents are brainwashing. Remember that.

Not everybody takes a wordly view of things. I have known many people who were brainwashed as a child with religion in ways I thought were not right and they grew up to preach what they were taught, had children and then repeated the same thing their parents did to them to their children. It's a slight digression, but it's why there is still inequality. People are raised being told that LGBT shouldn't get equal rights, racism, etc. These people grow up to preach what they were told without taking a moment to think for themselves and formulate their own opinion.

Some people get wise and when they leave the house for college or to just get a job pushing punch cards they start finding out who they are and what they believe in, but you have to realize that not everybody does that. In some cases I feel it's about 50/50, but I don't know for sure; and I won't check statistics because if there is a statistic out there it could be altered to make it represent what the person who did the statistic wants people to see (the catch with statistics!).

I mean, look. Here's a book you can buy for one of the classes you take at "America's Holiest University". Some people even want to continue their God training to be in his holy army even after they become an adult. Some just go because their parents force them. However, I bet there are still drugs, alcohol and one night stands. ;D HAH!

Why the hell is she attacking Harry Potter anyway its just a story! Its only for amusement!

She's attacking it because the story itself is, in her mind, an act of the devil put into place to lure children and other people away from the righteous path of God. In church/religion they teach you about how the devil/Satan will try to lure you away from the righteous path of God. She is telling those children not to give into Satan's doing and like Harry Potter because magic in their religion is sinful and the devil's doing.

Et cetera, et cetera.

My boyfriend's niece isn't allowed to play World of Warcraft because there are magic users in the game. Her father is that religious and believes it that much that when he found out she was using my boyfriends account to play WoW every now and again when we were visiting my boyfriend's father he got pissed off and told her that if he kept playing the game Satan would drag her to hell.

Of course she was old enough to believe the whole thing was hokum, and told it to my boyfriend and myself (she was... 13-14?) but it still bothered her. She was only trying to have fun. She even said that she knows magic can't happen and what the bible says about it.

brainwashing is unavoidable
all parents brainwash their children "don't lie~ or else your tooth will fall" something like that
and there are some laws that also brainwash people's mind~~~ like a poster must have "that language" and you have to talk "that language" outside of your house
there are a lot or weird laws that can brainwash people's mind indirectly
there are even more!!!
so it's not just religion

I sat down and re-watched the entire thing again. And i haven't laughed that much in a while. ^^
Although horrifying to see what they are doing to these kids, you have to admit that this whole documentary is absurdly funny.
I really loved the part with Ted Haggard. I wish i could have seen their faces when they realised Ted Haggard was fucking the shit out of male prostitutes in a haze of crystal meth.
Harry Potter the evil warlock bit was pretty funny. And the part where she harps on other people for being fat was humorous.
They should hook her up with the god warrior, DARK SIDED!!!, and let them have a crazy jesus-off to see who ends up being more insane.
