As far as I know:

Bible is there to describe the salvation, not to explain things. The basis of God's work is faith. Since faith doesn't need proof, detailed explanation is unnesessary to make the salvation work. So why bother to find the answer from Bible? Do we need to know in detail why we breathe to live? Do we really need physics to survive? Hardly right? Science are useful, but not a necessity, not for people 3000 years ago.

It is wrong, but God didn't say it was wrong until Leviticus. It was necessary at that time because that is all they had.

I know is a veeeery old post. But still, God didn't say it was wrong until so God defines what is wrong or not? I rather go with the God that perfectly follows what is right and wrong instead of appearing so flip flop like when it comes to morality.

because that is all they had.

God can do anything!

all they had?

What I'm saying is, this is not a good answer =]

I've read the bible, and I found it an interesting read, but not something I would base my life on. Afterall, its not written by God himself.

Why would having a baby make someone not a virgin? Having a baby and having sex are two different things. That's like saying using a tampon makes you not a virgin O_o? So having the baby wouldn't have taken away her virginity, but there are references to her and her husband Joseph that make it sound like they probably did have sex.

"and he knew her not till she brought forth her firstborn son" (Matthew 1:25) meaning he didn't "know" her (have sex with her) till she'd had Jesus.

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/15464b.htm
(that's where I got the Bible quote from)

So when she died she probably wasn't a virgin anymore.

I'm sure it depends on your religion, but Catholics don't believe he had siblings. When he died on the cross he told Mary and John something along the lines of "Mary he's now you're son, and John treat her like your mother". When they refer to John and the other apostles being "brothers" of Jesus they really just mean like "brotherhood" not literally siblings.

Catholics don't worship Mary as a deity or god. Some religions see it that way because they have celebrations for her, pray to her, and have pictures of her in their churches, but really they're just honoring her as Jesus' mother and as a saint who did something extraordinary =).

Psalm 90:4

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

2 Peter 3:8

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

2.it does say in genesis chapter 4 that there was more people on the earth at that time
3.the people of that era lived for hundreds of years so a few generations covers a long time period
