Well this is another anime that I think was getting pretty hyped up, and if I read correctly, this show already is greenlit for a 2nd season even when the 1st season just started. Anyway I got to say this is probably the most interesting concept for an anime I have ever seen.
Heres a Synopsis:Keima Katsuragi, a second-year high school student, is an avid Bishōjo game player. He is known on the Internet as "The Capturing God" for his legendary skills to be able to "capture" any 2D girl in games. However, in his actual school life, Keima is known as otamegane (オタメガネ), a derogatory portmanteau of the two words otaku (オタク) and megane (メガネ-"glasses") and is considered nothing but a gloomy geek with thick glasses. At the start of the series, Keima receives an e-mail offering him a contract to "capture" girls. When he accepts it, thinking it is an invitation to a game, a demon from Hell named Elsee appears. She asks for his cooperation to help her in catching runaway spirits. These spirits hide themselves inside the hearts of girls', and Elsee suggests that the only method to force the spirits out is by "capturing" the girls hearts—making them fall in love with him and filling up the gaps which the runaway spirits hide in. Interested only in 2D girls, however, Keima is appalled by the idea and refuses the assignment as he has no romantic real life experiences whatsoever. Nevertheless, with the contract already executed, Keima has no choice but to help Elsee no matter what; if they fail, it is Elsee and Keima who will lose their heads. While the series focuses on Keima and Elsee adventures on capturing spirits, the series also makes fun and parodying common and popular cliches about dating sims, anime character stereotypes and pop culture. Anyways Im glad to see that the main character wasnt some guy who was perfect 24/7, otherwise I woulda hated that. But this show definitely looks like its going to be awesome, the comedy was great, his knowledge of Dating Sims games is superb. I think we are all in for a real treat for this show. This season has so many good animes its ridiculous. |

A shame that girl lost the memory of that conquest, though I bet he`ll get that girl in the end xD It will be fun to see that gamer dude win the hearts of more girls xD "This season has so many good animes its ridiculous." Agrees xD |

That would be funny to see him living his real life with a Harem with all the girls he would capture xD

Loved it, they did a really good job bringing over the manga to anime.
I'm wondering how far they are going to get with the storyline in the first season, part of me wants them to take their time but another thinks they need to get to the revelation about what the Loose Souls are quickly, as that adds a whole new level to the nature of the show. Regardless this has a nice secure spot on my watch list. |

I'm assuming you mean the bodies of the girls they inhabit. It should get explained in an episode or two but I'll sum up if you feel like clicking spoiler text. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide The Loose Spirits hide in the gaps in a girl's heart., Keima's job is to fill those gaps and force the spirit out, and love is the main way to do so. Later he discovers that it isn't the only way to do it and we even get introduced to other Demon/Human teams who use very different tactics. Elci just kind of focused on love because she was told that was what Keima was best at by her boss. The Gaps in the heart seem to be best described as strong negative feelings. Loneliness, resentment, self-pity, hatred, etc... As to why Girls. the original reason given in the Manga is that the Loose Spirits will be able to reincarnate themselves as the first born child of the girl they inhabit, but I am not certain that is still in effect with more recent revelations about what the Loose Spirits really are. |
