Well there is the all time american cartoons that never die and will keep being remade batman,Superman,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

As well with them there are the best being : gargolyes, thunder cats, king aruther, x-men the older version, Beast wars i think which was the animal version of transformers, Reboot, Justice league,Spiderman, Gi joe which could be made into a great amercian anime if they wanted to, Boondocks.

Most (male targeted) cartoons from the 80's rock. Even though they were basically just glorified toy commercials, it's surprising how well they've held up. Thundercats in particular was awesome. A few are painful to watch now though, like Silverhawks and TMNT

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the classic Chuck Jones' Looney Tunes (unless I missed it). Those are still funny even after all these years.

Family Guy is awesome because it took what the Simpson's was doing and did it better. I love all the obscure jokes in there that 99% of audience won't get, like the william shatner "rocketman" parody by stewie.

I think Batman the animated series was amazing for it's time (heck still is), as well as alot of the DC cartoons. The X-MEN from the 90s was awesome as well.

Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, and Freakazoid are also very good, but I thinks thats because they were made as much for adults as the kids.

well, i'm not going to adress the first issues you mentioned... but all deformed looking? To say that anime isn't all deformed looking? Granted some series depict its subject matter in a realistic fashion, but I'd say it's a safer generalization to say that more anime is deformed looking than not. From what I've been told the fact that anime is deformed looking keeps alot of people away.

I would say... Avatar: The Last Airbender, TMNT, Dexter's Laboratory, Family Guy, Invader Zim, and Reboot.

I always liked The Lion King. That was my favorite Disney movie when I was little.
