Hi guys,

For those of you in Singapore and Malaysia who wanted to watch Strike Witches 2 when it first came out on our site, we have just expanded to those regions so they are now available!!

It's a great time to watch this series if you haven't done so already or re-watch it!

All the countries of the world joined forces to battle the Neuroi, a vicious enemy of mankind, who suddenly appeared. The only ones with the power to oppose them were an elite group of young girls who possessed special, magical powers - Strike Witches!

*This is available in the United States, Canada, and the rest of the Americas, UK, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, the Middle East, Africa, Singapore, & Malaysia

Availability Notes: All kadokawa titles will be removed 30 days after the airing of the last episode.

This is great news!

And for people in other countries wondering what they can do, remember that according to alexa (click "traffic stats" if its not highlighted then scroll down), there are five countries where Crunchyroll is ranked in the top 1,000 websites, and two of them are Singapore, where Crunchy is 464th, and Malaysia, where Crunchy is 790th.

So to answer what you can do, is if there is an anime you like that you can access on Crunchyroll, be sure to watch it here! The companies really do seem to pay attention. And if you can find enough anime here to justify a subscription, even better!

Its certainly something to be aware of. But if the titles are not available to go into the back catalog, this is a lot better than each episode going away 30 days after each episode streams (ahem), so that some people hear good things in the middle of the season and the first episodes are already down.

I wish they put a little calendar page graphic on the icons of the series that have a known expiration date, so people know to double check.

Anyway, there is either a week or two to watch it, for those in Singapore and Malaysia who just now got it (depending on whether they count from prerelease to anime members or general release) ... so get watching!

hmmm i wish would pick more form a other studios because this will just warrant a reason for torrents when the series are removed, but that's just me.

You got to license an anime series from whichever company has the rights. Since many of these series are not available for the back catalog unless all the DVD distributors pass, and they don't pass on the most popular ones, the question is whether Crunchyroll members should have a chance to watch the streams on Crunchy at all.

And as far as "not available on Crunchy at all unless all the DVD companies pass", remember that Funimation decided to pick up Strike Witches 2.

that is true about the dvd's for strike witches 2 i wish they would do bluray but i don't see that happening any time soon and well i have a small beef with funi because of the fact they licensee material then sit on it for 1-3 years before releasing it on DVD/BLURAY, but hey that's just me and besides i prefer to import blu-rays from japan because they are not resisted as much as dvd's are. On topic this is good for those who have been unable to watch the series so far.

Didn't see UK mentioned in that list but I enjoyed watching the series here in England. I'd have liked to see S1 in fact but that isn't available. . .

I was thinking the same thing. It was Shinji who gave that bit of good news, so michana must have looked at the original press release and missed the follow-up, adding both the UK and Ireland.

I agree with the other people. The moment people can't stream it legally they get it from torrent, hotfile, and megapath. These companies need to strike up a deal with crunchyroll for pay per watch or something of that nature after the 30 days. So they have money coming in instead of file download sites making all the money, and the anime companies get what???? thats right zippo.

Just my opinion anyways.

The license for Strike Witches 2 is already sold to Funimation, and even the current DVD market yields substantially more than streaming rights do, so if Funimation is insisting on across the board North American rights before they will license it, they are going to give Funimation across the board rights, and then its Funimation's decision what happens with the streaming.

Sure there'll be continued leakage to the pirates, but there isn't anybody in the DVD market who is there because they are unable to find bootleg downloads. They are there because they want the series in physical format, for whatever reason.

Some of the 13 catalog titles to be added by Kadokawa (and I think that 13 includes Demonbane and maybe some of the others announced at NYAF, so we'll get a better idea of this when the details for those are announced) may be series that the North American DVD distributors have passed on, and they might not put a hard time limit on those series but instead include options to extend, so that it can stay on Crunchyroll until or unless a DVD distributor expresses an interest.

I think you missed the point.
But, for the mute point of interest.
I'm currently watching a series on funimation thats paused for the moment, if it was a little better of an anime I'd be torrenting it now, and watching something else because of the streaming quality is horrible. But from a personal stand point every series that crunchyroll has started but then later it was licensed in the middle, I just downloaded the rest. How ever if the licenser said he crunchy you can pay per click the rest until the dvd releases, I would have paid to watch the rest to help support it legally. But, instead I paypal'ed to hotfile instead to download it.

The point was, suck every dollar you can while you currently have people viewing. So, theres not a gap in the market where money could be coming in.

this is due to the fact that they have to use dubs as well as subs for their material so it's going to take longer for release but that is just how funimation operates, i do wish they put more anime on tv if they are going through all the trouble to use dubs because to me it's a waste of time to do something like this. To be honest i support the industry more by importing games/bluray disc/manga than buying locialsized versions, and dear god it drains me to the brink nearly every month.
