Since there isn't a topic here about anime similar to claymore (not just in a medevil stance but more mature/violence oriented) I wanted to make a list of some. Here are just a few that I have watched. Keep in mind that I am relatively new to anime. Didn't really start watching till I was 18-19 other than the obvious Bleach/DB/DBZ and trigun.

So here goes, hopefully other will add to this list!
-Gantz: A scifi anime with a lot of blood and gore, some nudity.
-Berserk: Very similar to Claymore, lotsa blood and gore. Great fighting. Tremendous plot.
-Elfen Lied: SciFi, but this is the anime that got me started watching things like Claymore and the other on this list.
-Devil May Cry: Very action based. Wouldn't call it SciFi as much as more modern
-Blue Gender: Mecca Anime, but more mature than any other I can think of. Was debating including it but in the end I did because of the general suggested age range.
-Hellsing: Vampire Anime. Very Bad Ace. Lotsa Action.
-Basilisk: I'd compare it to a more mature version of naruto or bleach. Ninja rivalry type of anime. Good action but plot is a bit lacking and can be slow at times.
-Ghost in the Shell: Scifi anime thats pretty violent. Stories don't chain a lot so IMO it has a kinda weak plot overall. Still worth a watch for sure. Shoot em up type. I'd compare it to Gantz but not quite as good.
-Black Lagoon: Awesome anime about a mercenary group. Mature and definitely worth looking into.
-Gungrave: Pretty violent mafia anime with some cool twists. Worth a watch if you are into mafia stuff.

I kno most of these are more popular but if it even helps one person it is worth it. please suggest more.

If you guys haven't seen "Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom" i would definitely recommend it. I put off watching it for some reason for about a year but I finally watched it on Netflix. The ending really stays with you far after you've finished. I feel only a few shows rival the overall impact it has had on me.

and those are...

Claymore("In Raki's voice": Clare!)
Clannad After Story(Most emotional anime of ALL TIMES)
Berserk

Sword Art Online( )
Gundam 00 (I did not think it would be better than Wing. I was wrong.)
Haibane Renmei (Awesome art and storytelling. very unique series)

Gotta say, claymore is Amazing, but "Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom" just blew my mind. I sat down to watch an episode about three months ago and ended up staying up all night needing more. It has an amazing story. This and claymore really impacted my life and I will always love these shows XD
