I've been an anime member since last year, and was surprised to see only one link, but then I clicked through and saw three passes.
I guess its one for each 30 days, so if you are at like 45 days, you'd have one and be 15 days away from the next.

They've got a 90 day expiration date, and we'll have one each month, since it says:
If you are a Premium Member, you will receive a Guest Pass
for every 30 days as a member going forward.
... so someone who does not hand out their passes for two months will have three available, total. Longer time members are just getting "seeded" with a little launch bonus.

Personally, it should be a week, at the LEAST, so that the potential customers - you know, the REASON you're doing this - can get a feel for the site over the week, and see the reason of a premium membership - that is, simulcasts, higher quality, no ads. Considering in the span of 3 days last week alone you ADDED a bunch of stuff.
You stand to gain more by doing it that way.
There's still the free trial. You got a good friend who's broke, they get to marathon on some day they have free. You have a friend who is reluctant to "burn" their free trial, they get a taste.
If the person can pick the day (up til expiration), they've got a chance to both sample the new simulcasts and see how they like watching without ads, and also whether they have a system/network connection that gives them any benefit from the higher definition streams.
