Im a huge fan of fantasy and fairytales X3 and I was always wondering what bedtime stories/fairytales from books do you think would look cool as anime? and what anime do you like thats already based off a fairytale?

for one, this is an oldschool anime I used to watch as a child that have many episodes based off German fairytales X3

I wouldn't mind seeing any classic fairy tale as an anime as long as they are not based on the happily ever after versions of today.

It`s much more fun when they do parodies of the fairytales instead:
Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi

^Seconded. Maybe with a little-off like RomeoXJuliet but yeah. Beauty and the Beast sound good.

Cinderella has an anime called Cinderella Monogatari. I've watched it, and it's really nice, totally different than Disney's version. In my opinion, the relationship between Cinderella and the Prince in the anime started off differently and is less artificial than Disney's version of a one night-fling kinda thing.

You can watch it here.

RomeoXJuliet also has an anime. But it's different than Shakespeare's version, but it's quite entertaining. And sad.
