If you think the thread is pointless, why do you even join in to comment?

I also use online translators. Most them translate in a way I don't quite grasp...it doesn't make sense, but it has taught me to learn more about the culture of the language I want translated, and then, it makes more sense...and THAT is not a pointless thing....learning something new is NEVER pointless. Thanks to all who gave websites for translators.

I agree that most translators online are literal, meaning sentence structure is often screwy.

You CAN use translators, but I prefer dictionary. E-dicts are a better way for knowing the exact meaning and term you are referring to. Plus basic Japanese knowledge, actually it should be rather do-able to find out short japanese sentences and their meaning.
